To defeat the enemy or win in a few other ways. Conquest, Wonder victory, relic victory, kill the king, and others (all diff types of games and styles inside the game).

Problem is, who ever does play old games?

Oldest game that I still play is Starcraft and sometimes Mech Commander. Though I just recent played Half-Life: Blue Shift with the mod pack, which came out on Steam.

However, AoE is quite older than the games I boldly said.
AoE is all about the realism, since they do look real(those decades ago).
