I was check out the creation digital website, and I saw that they had a little game going on over there. I thought it sounded pretty cool, so I figured I'd bring it over here. Hope that's ok BlazeQ.

To quote blaze from his website:

Quote[/b] ]Rules:
* One persons starts with a quote from a movie. Others try to guess what movie that quote is from. Whoever gets it right goes next.

* If nobody gets it within a couple days, then the person who said the quote says another one.

* When someone takes a guess, if they are sure they are right, they can post the next one right then. Otherwise they can wait until the person who said the quote tells them they got it. If they are wrong a mod wil delete the quote they posted.

We will keep it all in one thread (I wonder how big it will get? :^)

Ok, I'll start with an easy one.

No, it's not like that at all, he's my brother.

nope Eon, the Labrinth thing might be close, but it's not the quote.

Other kings said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So, I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp, but the fourth one... stayed up! And that's what you're gonna get, lad: the strongest castle in these islands.

"Did you eat a lot of paint chips when you were a kid?"

Katarn85

Yeah, it's Men in Black.

It's just after K calls Zed with the news: "Zed, we have a bug." J remarks that they don't like bugs, to which K replies that bugs feast on the death and destruction of other species.

Then J gives his line.

Criostoir

YAY!!! ;)

Here's another quote now. Personally, I think this one is pretty simple.

Quote[/b] ]Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die

Malohaut
02-10-2003, 09:10 AM
Inigo Montoya is one of the central characters of William Goldman's engaging fantasy The Princess Bride.

Okay. I'm curious if anybody might happen to know this one:

"Hey Chewy. Show them your new armpit tattoo."

Criostoir
02-10-2003, 12:36 PM
I knew my last one would be easy. ;) ...and I have no clue what that last quote is from. I would normally assume it to be a Star Wars related movie with the "Hey Chewy" part, but for some reason I'm seriously doubting that it is a Star Wars quote. (unless it was from that aweful Star Wars Christmas special that I barely remember watching as a kid)

Malohaut
02-11-2003, 03:44 PM
With the lack of responses, it seems that nobody is probably going to guess this one. It is kind of an unfair quote anyway. Yes Criostor, it is Star Wars, but not the Christmas Special. Here is the full-length movie:

http://www.newfangledhope.com/

So Criostor, you pretty much got that one. Your turn.

Criostoir
02-11-2003, 11:24 PM
well, i don't know how many people have seen this movie...but we'll see if anyone can get this quote. It's an easy one if you have ever seen the movie. (bonus points if you know who the main star of the movie is)

Quote[/b] ]Atuke lunda Lana! Lana lunda Atuke?

Exo-Slayer
02-12-2003, 07:48 PM
lol ive seen a lot of movies, but these last 2 seem like your just making them up. Your not supose to pick the hardest ones possible just the best quote or saying from a movie.

Criostoir
02-13-2003, 08:43 AM
This one isn't made up. It is a low budget cheesy movie though. It did recently make it's way to DVD though. http://www.cgalliance.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I'll give a hint. The main star's real name is Richard Starkey. Anyone familiar with him will also know his stage name, which may help you all figure out what movie this is. (considering he only made a few movies since he's really known for his music career).

Malohaut
02-13-2003, 09:37 AM
Plan 9 From Outer Space!

Okay.  Maybe not.  But that's the only cheesy movie I know.  Well, that and Frankenweenie.

Criostoir
02-14-2003, 08:21 AM
Ok, one last hint and then I'll just tell what it is. I honestly didn't know if anyone here had seen this movie anyway.

It stars Dennis Quaid, Shelly Long, and Ringo Starr.

Maybe try searching in a search engine for a movie with thos actors names.

Malohaut
02-14-2003, 09:33 AM
Well, if nobody else can get it, I will. And the only reason I got it was because I saw it while browsing the movie section at Walmart last night.

Caveman

I almost picked it up, but you said it was kind of cheesy?

Anyhoo. Here's an easy one for you guys:

"Swing away Merrill, swing away."

Criostoir
02-14-2003, 10:49 AM
It's very cheesy, but that's the point. I haven't seen it since I was in high school (almost 10 years ago now), so I don't remember a lot about it. I just remember thinking that it was hilarious. The special effects are horrible, but that is how they are intended. Basically, it's a comedy spoof of old low budget caveman/dinosaur movies. It's definitely worth at least renting (which I would suggest before you consider buying).

...and about the quote...I KNOW I KNOW!!! (but I'm not gonna answer because someone else needs a turn) ;)

BlazeQ

"Worst. I was aiming at the horse."

This should be rather easy

"You cannot pass... I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor. The Dark Flame will not avail you, Flame of Udun. Go back to the shadow! You shall not pass!"

Now that i think about it im gonna go put this dvd in and watch it.

John Murdoch: When was the last time you remember doing something during the day?

Inspector Frank Bumstead: What do you mean?

John Murdoch: I just mean during the day. Daylight. When was the last time you remember seeing it? And I'm not talking about some distant, half-forgotten childhood memory, I mean like yesterday. Last week. Can you come up with a single memory? You can't, can you? You know something, I don't think the sun even... exists... in this place.
