Does anyone have any interest in EVE?
Does anyone here still play?
Anyone know other Christian groups who may be interested in it?

monthly fees ftl
monthly fees ftlYes, yes, that was constructive. -_-
Back to the topic at hand, there doesn't seem to be a large and cohesive EVE Online player base in the United States. Only a certain percentage of online gamers are Christian, and even fewer hear of or want to join a Christian gaming group.
But if there's sufficient interest in reviving our EVE Online chapter, I'm down wit' it.

Superb!
Seriously though, I really would like to play but 14.95 a month is a tad much for me. I'm slummin' on RS with 5 bucks a month >.<
Cloud G
01-28-2007, 04:47 PM
yeah, 14.95 is a big down side. It's right on par with WoW and FF. You can buy a 90 day code which brings the cost down to like 13-14 a month. Nice thing is that you don't have to signup for a subscription, your character advances when you're not online, and if you set it up right, he'll advance even whe you don't have time left on you account. ie: there's a skill that is going to take 27 days to learn, and you're at the end of your 30 day card. You simple set that skill to train, and mark down 27 days on your calendar. You don't pay that month, but when you come back....your character has the skill trained.

so.....i'm guessing this is a no......
oh well perhaps next time....
A post on an EVE Online fan site forum may go a long way in determining the demand for an EVE Online chapter.

Tribe of Judah's EVE Online Chapter Leader stepped down shortly after the chapter's creation and we haven't found a person to take up the mantle since.
Since you seem to have an interest in EVE Online, would you be interested in taking over the now Inactive chapter?

Eve is very corp based, it benefits the end player to be in a corp and the corp gets tax from the players in its base. If you are going to run a corp you have the be aggressive and have a good reputation. Unfortunately probably 25% will war deck a "Christian" corp out of spite, which is very very costly, especially if you lack the capital to take it.
Switching corps is hard, you get to know the others in the corp very well and bond with them. Within 1-2 weeks with a corp you can be "one of the guys", it really is unique. The game can get emotional when your piloting ships that cost 50+ million and the missiles start flying.
Unfortunately I stopped playing eve and switched over to Second Life, which lets me practice my coding skills on their scripting language and have already made a few friends.

Oh yeah...wery wery cool stuff.....

EVE is definately a place Christians need to be. I've got a model on how to start a corp, and get BIG in the EVE world. Only thing is, we'd need a lot of people willing to be online ready to fight.

I just gotta re-activate my account, and see about getting all my stuff moved. My BS, and covops.....along with fittings and minerals are sitting out in 0.0.......gonna take some work to either recover them.....
could just put everything and escrow and start over...
How do you proposes to make that much isk? And at that rate.....it'd be really easy to start a "free frigate" program for newbies. I've got an alt with the pretty good refining and build skills.....and BPOs.....just would need to secure for manufacturing time.

If there's a guarantee that I can play indefinitely or a least for a long[ish] time without a monthly fee, I would be ecstatic! I just want to know if this is a hypothetical thing or if it's planned for a long time from now or WHATEVER but if you have the resources here and now... :D

right now 150isk = 30d gtc(game time code) eve has an in game feature for this so we wont be in violation of their TOS i have already paid for one month this way (it makes the wife happy) and i am ready to pay for another month this week(would have been a 90d GTC but i lost two ships and got ransomed by a pirate yarrrrrrr) so it is very do able if you put in the time or when we join forces more isk perhr for the corp ill keep track of who puts in what time to div up the corp cash and so on so if some one puts in alot of time but still falls a little short then we can help some by some i mean 5ish million is all that is in the corp acc now we have a .5 % corp tax just about as low as you can go with out going to 0

What part of space are you running missions in mate? My main is in metropolis now. Still haven't moved stuff out of 0.0...but I'm up for running missions, or ratting.
1337 3.14
04-30-2007, 10:46 PM
It will take a month or two to get self sustaining probably. Starting off the initial income is horrible. Starting off you can tote with the big boys and gather loot that drops (as lots of it drops and you can go a heck of alot faster in a smaller ship). I really appreciate that as I like to be lazy and just blow stuff up.
I am really considering getting a time card and starting over. iirc I had 210m isk but I never bothered to buy a gtc as I needed to drop the game to concentrate on school.
Cloud G
04-30-2007, 10:50 PM
LOL.....i lost interest in EVE after there wasn't much interest here......after reading the posts the last few days, I'm ready to go again!
For starting players, I'll put up the isk to buy frigates.......unless I have them (I run Caldari, and Minmatar....and can build Merlins and Rifters) And, I'll toss in fittings.

I wont be doing anything in the next few days as I just got outta school and sleep is a precious commodity and I will be starting work and school again :\ I would be willing to help people through missions as I have a drake that can tank pretty much every level 3 mission and some lvl4s.
If this moves forward I will commit to buying a GTC this weekend and joining you guys.

You don't wanna haul from where it is...(most of it is in the station in C-J in insmother.....deep in RED territory) And I don't believe you'd have the rights to dock at any of the stations in that area. Thanks though. OH!....before I forget, my i game name is "Issac Gains". Soon as I get logged back in, I'll add you to my friends list, and see if you're on.

no worries mate. I apperciate the offer. The area is swarming with goons....literally. i've got a hauler out there i can use to bring stuff in. where is your current base of operations?
Also, C$, give the trial a try. Post any question you've got like character creation, or whatever..... we"ve got enough resources here to answer pretty much any questions.

well let me tell you this i was dead broke last friday and now i have 121m isk and more than 100m worth of stuff on the market so if i can make one months worth of isk in a "week" lets say........then the rest of you should be able to do so in just under a month btw if you are short druing your 14d trial ill front you some isk to start you off that goes for anyone that falls a little short this is a one month deal until i get paid back and i only do this after my month is paid for other wise wife not happy =P BTW make a minmatar char

Roger that. Thanks a bunch, man! I've wanted to play this game since like... well, for a very long time. :D
One question, though--how much time, collectively, does it take to earn that needed 150k to pay for the subscription, on average? I mean, it sounds like it could easily be made in a month but it might be one of those things where I'd need to be on two hours a day every day for the whole month to pay, at least until I get moderately wealthy (waste no money, I suppose :\)
Cloud G
05-01-2007, 08:38 PM
yeah, it can be a bit of a slow start. But unlike other MMOs in EVE there's no newbie land, and there's no place you can't go...
Also...... GRAB THIS APP (http://evemon.battleclinic.com/downloads/EVEMon-install-1.2.1.745.exe) It's called EVEmon and it'll help DRAMATICALLY. Basically it's an encyclopedia to ships. models, skills...and it'll elp you plan out when to train things you you can be offline while things train!
btw...there were some problems with it....I've tested this version and it works.

This is where i buy codes from: http://www.shatteredcrystal.com/code.php/eve_online They email you the code. I've never dealt with CCP. If there's enough people buying code from here, we can 'partner' with the store....basically they give whoever sets up the account a link to their store, they can tell who's account goes to what link and they send you cash (30 cents a time code) for everyone that follows the link to buy a code.

Well I changed my mind again, I was out mowing the lawn thinking "You know I think I said the wrong thing. I really dig that game!" so the problem is... say I can mine a given ore and then go to a station and sell it and do that for an hour a day. Let's say I can fill my hold and go sell every, oh, 5 minutes. (for the sake of argument, I mean. I haven't timed it) So then I'd be making, say, 15,000 every five minutes. Over an hour, that would get me... 300,000 (correct me if I'm wrong). If I do an hour a day (and sometimes I can't, but for the sake of argument let's say I can) for 30 days, then my profit would be 9,000,000 ISK. Problem is, for 30 day timecards they usually go for like what, 150 million, right? 150-200 or something, unless I didn't remember the number right. Is there a good way to make money that I can do so that I can play for "free" and yet not spend every waking moment on EVE just working?
Max Armbruster
05-07-2007, 07:04 PM

Cloud G
05-07-2007, 08:15 PM
Yeah...missions where you fight badies are the best for cash. Not only do you isk for the mission, and doing the bonus....you also get cash for each badie you kill......THEN you can sell the junk you loot from the wrecks...so it's cash all a round. AND if that wasn't cool enough.....lot's of fighting missions (least the early ones) take place in either the current system, ,or one system over....so less travel time!

Hello all, new forum member here. I was googling for a christian EVE corp, or at least one that forbid profanity, and found this site! My in-game name is Vicioun, I am willing to help anyone new to the game (training, some donations). If a corp took off I would be glad to join, although I would like it to be one that could last. Currently I am a high-sec mission runner and low-sec Exploration escort. Look forward to talking with you all in game and in the forums!

Awesome! Glad to meet ya. Join the "Christian Public Access" channel in EVE. Myself and Max here are members of "Maximum Mission Mercenaries" HQ'ed in Tratokard. Pretty much right down the line you're looking at. We run missions for the most part, and definately we watch what gets said. My two accounts are in my sig. Issac Gains, and Diens Entaki.
Hope to see ya in space!
