View Full Version : Starcraft for $10 plus tax
EBgames.com (http://www.ebgames.com) is selling the Starcraft: Battle Chest (http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=642254) for only $9.99 USD plus shipping and tax. Enter the promo code SAVER at checkout and select USA Saver shipping for free shipping.
I already own two copies (one for me, one for my wife), but I enjoy Starcraft so much and the Battle Chest was so cheap that I bought another copy today. My grand total with shipping and tax was $10.64 USD.

I'm looking forward to getting this one - I used to love early RTS titles like
Dune II. Have never played Starcraft.

Not many people have played Starcraft, Cloud_G.
Some of the people that are playing C&C:3 haven't played or own the Starcraft game too.
The fact that it is a very old game and over 100,000 users still play Starcraft on Battle.net.
Some people are into the Westwood's RTS series, some are into others RTS game series.
You know, the Starcraft demo (http://www.blizzard.com/starcraft/scdemo.shtml) is still available to download for people that want to know how the game is.
I do own the Battle Chest as well, actually because my Brood War CD is terribly scratched and my Starcraft CD is burned (Not literally).
I've had a burned Starcraft CD for over 5 years and it finally dies on me, so naturally, I got brought the original CD.
What really makes me wonder, who has the original Starcraft CD that gave me the burned one.
On the record, I have one burned Starcraft CD, two original Starcraft CDs and two original Brood War CDs.
On the record, I have one burned Starcraft CD, two original Starcraft CDs and two original Brood War CDs.I've purchased three copies of Starcraft and Brood War:
The original discs I bought for myself.
A set of discs I bought for my wife.
The set of discs I bought for $10.64 shipped, which I mentioned earlier in this thread. :D

Got it and have played the introductory missions. I am sure I will get my $10 worth out of this game, but honestly I'm having some trouble figuring out how this game could possibly be so wildly popular. I guess RTS isn't really my thing, but I'll probably like it more when I get more into it. Anyone want to meet up with me online and show me the ropes?

I could show you how the game works; Mining; Defending; Attacking; how each unit works, specials, etc.
Other that than, I can't help you on your strategies. Everyone has their own, when you manage to learn the basics, you may understand what strategy is best suited for you.

what are some of your strategies, corp? that was my real problem with the game, i never got a good strategy for myself. i would just try and make units and attack when i had the largest force i could... yet i was pretty bad at the game.... sooooo.... i guess i'm asking everyone. What kidna strategies have come up in Starcraft... (i'm mainly a terran guy, i guess i "could" play protoss or zerg... yet i'm pretty bad with either.... [well at least to teh point you "can" be bad with protoss... almost anyone can be protoss and own])

When a Starcraft game night comes up and your coming, then you will see how I play.
If not, I use nukes to cripple and battlecruisers to destroy Vs. Computers.

ahh... heavy weaponry... right on. personally... at least in command and conquer... i like doing alot of small, on going attacks, while preparing a large army of weapons that can take massive damage.... so.... i guess that would be more of a zerg tactic... yet still. You understand.

Just bought the battlechest edition a couple weeks ago. I am almost done with the original game. I am about halfway through the protoss missions. In multiplayer I tend to play as the terran.

Terrans are the easiest race to play as. Normally in most games, the Humans are always the easiest to play and the Aliens are not.
