2-3 man uw farming

My 55 monk and halonics necromancer had some fun today. 2 man uw farming is a easy job for the necromancer.

Necromancer:
Awaken the blood
Blood ritual
Spiteful spirit
Sympathetic Visage
Empathy
Signet of weariness
Arcane echo
Rez signet

Illusion - 10
Blood - 9
Curses - 16

Monk(needs sup runes on every armor and -50 offhand):

Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Spell Breaker
Blessed Signet
Balthazaars Spirit
Blessed Aura
Mending
Bonnetti's Defense

Healing 13
Smithing (N/A in this except for balthazars spirit points count toward adrenaline) 9
Prot Prayers 14
Divine 12
Tactics 2

The above 55 monk is my build. If anyone wants to farm uw as 2 or 3 man let me (divine serendipity is my monk) and halonic(necro build above) know. Even Nukers are welcome!

Heres me and halonic posing in the uw after killing some of the bulls
Snowman seems to like the ghost alot

For your necro/mesmer build above, Empahy and Signet of Weariness are both Domination magic skills, but you have no points in domination magic. Could you explain the logic for these 2? I would think that in the UW with no domination magic points, empathy (at 0 gives 8 seconds of 10 damage per hit) wouldn't be worth the 10 energy and 2 seconds to cast. I would replace with Desecrate Enchantments. Same energy and cast time with Awaken the Blood active gives 71 base shadow damage to target and each adjacent foe and 23 more for each enchantment.

I have been working on a SS Echo as well. It works well up to the area around LA. I wouldn't mind trying out UW with this:

Curses 16
Blood 13
Soul Reaping 3

Awaken the Blood
Arcane Echo (no attribute mesmer skill)
Spiteful Spirit (Elite - to be echo'ed)
Desecrate Enchantments
Rez Signet

For the remaining 3, they could be changed because I haven't tried with a 2 man team with a monk.

Vampiric Gaze (quick self heal, not as important with monk)
Faintheartedness (slows and degens one opponent, do not stack with SS)
Shadow Strike (attack with self heal if target >50%)

Those Necro skills and attributes are not my making. They are copied from a Guru forum post. The main foe energy robbing skill is sympathetic visage. The other two are fill-ins while SV is recharging so they dont have to last long or eat up attribute points.

I have actually seen other ss/sv necros use suffering or another mesmer degen skill. I forgot which skill it is but a mesmer skill gives energy on miss which could be coordinated with bonnetis defence to give the necro and monk energy.

I dunno 'bout 2-3 man farming, but 5 man trapping is fun too

EDIT: link doesn't work, curses. Its in my latest post in the screenshot thread

Thanks Mr Zwart. Helped alot I now have the guilds second 55 monk. I am still learning/getting used to this build I died due to my own mistakes. It is a ver fun Build I must say. It surely keeps you on your toes.

Only the 2nd 55 monk? ;) Did Sydney Ablaze leave the guild or something? Back when I was there he and I were the only 55 monks that I knew of. We used to do 2 monk UW runs, but then I discovered the 18 curses Necro build and started using that with his monk, works so much better. I haven't played in so long that I can't remember the exact build for my Necro though :(. All I remember is Arcane Echo the Spiteful Spirit after first doing Awaken the Blood. And then I had another curse related area damage dealer to help finish off the baddies. Of course the monk can bring 1 damage dealer, like balth aura, and that will ensure success. Sometimes the smite crawlers don't die from just the Necro's curses, because they use RoF every other hit, so you need another constant damage dealer from the monk.

Good to see you again Quantum!

Desecrate Enchantments was the other necro curse that you probably used. I use that one with my build in place of the Empathy Vibro listed above. Sympathetic Visage is very useful against the smites. It drains their energy so they can't protect themselves from SS or Desecrate. I sometimes don't get the entire group and need to wait for SV to recharge before hitting them again. With smite hex and their shield up, it's tough to do much damage without hitting the monk with SV a few seconds before trying.

Also, I replaced the Signet of Weariness with an interrupt, usually power spike. Although I don't have any points in domination magic for either skill, I find the interrupt useful against Nightmares attempting to rend enchantments and the coldfire's maelstrom.

And yes, Sydney got pulled into WoW with a 10-day trial from a friend. I haven't heard from him lately, so I don't know if he is still playing that.

Hi DZWart! :D That's too bad about Syd. And yes Desecrate Enchantments was what the extra area damage dealer was. Thanks for reminding me! It looks like I won't be returning after all, as I sold my gaming PC and my copy of Guild Wars. I am now a Mac user and LOVING it. :D But maybe one day I'll buy one of those incredible Dell deals just to have a gaming PC. ;)

I can foreward you a plan for a $600 pc that should run gw pretty decently(tho you need to know how to build a computer), just use a kvm to link the two and youd be set for gaming and the lovely crashless, virus free, spyware free unix environment ( no offense but i would use linux 100% of the time if it werent for gw :P)

maybe that will change with my next computer, Ill get a cedega account and go through the trouble of emulation from directx to opengl. My school recently asked me to install linux on one of their servers to host oracle 10g. I got bored with the windows boxes at school so i started to use elive, which has enlightenment e17 on it. Everyone is like "wow what is that?" and woefully they become awed at the operating system on a cd-rom.
