Help Wanted: Assistant Membership Administrator

Greetings, all.

I'm looking for a ToJ member to help review and process new member applications. This is a great way to help out without investing much time.

Rather than delay a "help wanted" post until I have the "Roles & Responsibilities" document written and polished, I've decided to toss up a rough draft and see if anyone volunteers.

So, here goes:

Requirements
  • Ten (10) to fifteen (15) minutes free a day
  • Daily and dependable access to the Internet
  • Good written communication skills
  • Consistent (daily) review of new applications
Preferences
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent "people skills"
  • Member of ToJ for at least one (1) year
  • Daily presence on major instant messaging network (i.e. Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, or AIM)
Tasks
  • Review and approve or deny new ToJ member applications
  • Contact applicants that do not provide enough information on applications
  • Coordinate with MMO chapter (World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Dark Age of Camelot) staff members
  • Coordinate with Ambassador Team Leader (specifics pending)

Could you show what an application looks like when you receive it? I'm just curious. Also, what kind of coordination are you talking about with the staff members and Ambassador Team leader?

I'd rather not post a completed application for privacy reasons, but you can see the current membership application after clicking "Accept" at the bottom of this page.

It's not entirely clear at this time, but there may be some interaction between the Assistant Membership Administrator and our MMO chapter (World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Dark Age of Camelot) recruiters. The recruiters might need to contact the Assistant Membership Administrator to confirm that a member application has been approved so that a new member may be admitted to a ToJ guild.
 
Next question:

How is the information from the applications received? Via email or is it in the menu that we have after logging into the ToJ website?

The link to view applications is on the user menu on the ToJ web site, but only for users with the necessary access rights.
 
I'll go ahead and volunteer myself for this position if you still need someone. I pretty much meet all the requirements and most of the preferences with the exceptions being that I haven't been in ToJ for 1 year yet and I don't use any IM program but Xfire.

Roger that. I've made a note and I'll get started on getting you the access to start reviewing applications this weekend.
