TF2 Community Update

Valve is updating TF2 with new community content. The hats will probably be great but I'm not sure about community weapons. If the weapons behave differently I'm thinking it will screw up the game balance greatly if not everyone can get them easily. Valve previously said community items would be added in the random drops and mentioned nothing about an alternate method. However if the weapons simply look different I think it will be good.

Here is a list of the new community items. Looks like no game breakers though some are lackluster. Valve seems to have played it fairly safe with what those weapons do which is good. The only problem I see is I don't know if there is a way to earn those weapons other than drops (or possible weapon crafting?).

One of my previous suggestions was a welding mask for the engineer and someone made one too .

I actually found that chocolate bar thing for the heavy today. I almost never play heavy, though.
