For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven't stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing [to Him], bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints' inheritance in the light. He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:9-14, HCSB

Paul's prayer for the church of Colossi was that the new believers would be "filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual understanding." Just as someone "filled" with rage is controlled by rage, so are Christians filled with knowledge of God's will directed by that knowledge. Paul isn't talking about "head knowledge" in this passage; he's talking about knowledge earned through experience as well. Paul's prayer is simple, but it carries with it the root of all Christian service.

Though the Christian Gamers Alliance is not, nor intended to, serve as a substitute for a local church, all Christians are part of a universal church (which urges, rather than invalidates, attendance in a local church). As such, I pray that all members of our community would be filled with and directed by the knowledge of God's will.

And if this VotD sounds like a mini-sermon, it's because it's based entirely on the sermon our teaching pastor spoke at my local church this morning. :)
