Time for a new clan tag?

We've all been sporting the [toj.cc] tag for a long, long while now. The tag used to bump us to the top of Steam Friends lists. After the GUI update last year (was it last year?), we got bumped to the bottom.

Are you all interested in changing our clan tag?

If so, what are your suggestions for a new clan tag? Be sure to include the full format (e.g. [toj.cc]Player).

ToJ|Whon

†oj|whon

†αΩ†Whon

K, that's just making some up off the top of my head, but I've been happy with [toj.cc]

But I like the brackets. @_@

ToJ|Keero could work. I dunno, so used to [toj.cc] xD.

If your goal is to get Toj members to the top of the list again you'd need to find the best character that gets us there. The † symbol puts CC members on top of my list.

Nope I like it the way it is. I'm happy if we can just get members to wear it. If you absolutely must change it many people already don't recognize it's a web site so keep it simple. Like just replace the [] with †toj.cc† to bump it up the list. Of course then people have to go through the bother of finding the † symbol every time they change their name. Some do change it often too (thinks of Keero-san :p). Also consider if you make it longer you make less room for people's names to display. Already on many games I'm known as "[toj.cc]The Mighty" XD .

If you all are content with [toj.cc]Player, we can stick with that. I just get annoyed having to scroll all the way to the bottom of my Friends list every time I want to chat with someone in ToJ. :p

I'm testing which characters bump us to the top of the list and which bump us to the bottom.

*toj.cc*Player bumps us to the top, but I don't like the way it looks. Same goes for:
  • )toj.cc(Player
  • (toj.cc)Player
  • <toj.cc>Player
  • >toj.cc<Player
  • +toj.cc+Player
  • ::toj.cc::Player
^toj.cc^Player bumps us to the bottom as does {toj.cc}Player, }toj.cc{Player, and |toj.cc|Player.

Bah. Maybe we can stick with the brackets (they really do look best) and try to find a way to change the way Steam Friends sorts names.

EDIT: ¬toj.cc¬Player looks interesting, but is too complicated (ALT+0172).

I just sent this to several ToJ members over Steam:
Quick note to Tribe of Judah members: In an effort to keep all clan tags uniform, I'm asking members who have a space between the clan tag and their handle to remove the space (e.g. [toj.cc]Player instead of [toj.cc] Player). This will prevent the creation of two group of ToJ members on friends lists.

Also, the T in the clan tag should be lowercase.

One more somewhat related note: I'd really like for all Tribe of Judah members to use the [toj.cc] tag on Steam. When I go to invite members to a chat room or a game, I often find myself missing several members who aren't "wearing" the clan tag. In the past, I've taken great pains to watch for members not wearing the clan tag. After this request today, I'll be taking less time to do so in the future.

How do I do this?

In the menus at the top of the steam window go to Steam->Settings->Friends. You'll see your editable Profile name there.

Well, if people are happy with the current clan tag, maybe it's time to nudge Valve to add grouping support for the Steam friends list? Post a reply in this thread on the Steam forums to keep it bumped.

If we were able to create groups on our Steam Friends lists and place fellow clanmates in a Tribe of Judah group and place that group at the top of the contact list, well, problem solved.
