hey guys I am really thinking of picking this one up...but I am not sure if my machine could run the game; here are my specs:
AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core QL-62 (2 Cpus), 2.0 GHz
2814 MB RAM
312 GB HD
ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics

Please don't bash the laptop, it is all I could afford. :)

Hmm, I think you may have low FPS, even with low settings/DX9 mode. I was able to run it decently on low/medium with my 9800gt/GT 220 Nvidia cards.

Honestly, I think it will not run well on your laptop. You will get low FPS most of the time.

Bad Company 2 is a game that is made for fairly recent hardware. It is also more CPU-intensive than most current FPS games out there. While it will run okay on a dual-core CPU setup, it was designed with a quad-core processor in mind. I got a fairly big FPS increase when I upgraded my rig from a 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo to a 3.0GHz Core 2 Quad.

Here are the official minimum/recommended requirements posted by DICE:

Bad Company 2 Requirements said:
Minimum:

OS: Windows XP
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
Memory: 2GB
Graphics: 256 MB Video Card (GeForce 7800 GT / ATI X1900)
DirectX®: DirectX 9, 10, and 11 support
Hard Drive: 15 GB

Recommended:

OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad or higher
Memory: 2GB
Graphics: 512 MB Video Card (GeForce GTX 260/ ATI Radeon 4870)
Controller Support: Support for Logitech G15 and G19 keyboard LCDs in multiplayer

Hopefully, that will give you some guidance, Logos.

yep, I suppose that one is out of my spec range for now. As far as CPU is concerned for both my laptop and desktop...although my desktop has G-force 8500...the CPU is 2.0 dual core...
