Acts 1:6-7
"When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power."

It is easy at times to get impatient, wanting to see some measure of visible progress of God's presence in the world in exchange for our faith in Him. Humans have a hard time maintaining faith in anything without constant assurance that that faith is going somewhere. That's why all our relationships require so much work, because without a lot of time and effort put into constant validation of the faith between ourselves and others, God included, our relationships will simply fall apart.

While God does prize us and His relationship with us highly, there are times when He cannot grant what we want when we want it. He has a certain plan already laid out for the world with its timetable already determined. It is not given to us to know every detail of His plan, but it should be sufficient for us to know 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." Sometimes He needs us to be longsuffering, too, and willing to endure things we would rather He would more quickly move us out of so that more besides us can also be saved.
