Tribe of Judah Minecraft Server Operator
Through tinkering with Eyes of Ender (or is it Eye of Enders?), Nether portals, redstone, and cocoa beans, a wormhole to another world has been created, ready to be explored and settled! The rifts in time and space are hazardous to look at, so we've covered the holes with signs that say things similar to this:
Warp To

Caladan
By simply touching the sign (right-clicking), you will be drawn through the strange tunnel and deposited in the other world. The warps are all near each world's spawn.
To get to Caladan, head out of the stone church in Legacy, then walk to the warp structure slightly to your left (with the beacon beam).
To get back to Legacy, the warp is in the basement of the wooden church in Caladan. The Frontier has obvious warps... they are probably the only man-made structures in the entire world.
Much like the space/time travel in Terminator, no objects can go through between worlds. Since this is a family server, we pleaded with the laws of physics and received an exception to preserve clothing. These worlds are completely separate otherwise. The old world, named Legacy, will keep on going as it has been. People can cross over back and forth as much as they like.
The new world, Caladan (Dune reference), has its own Nether, End, and a new area called the Frontier! The Frontier allows everyone to have a good chance of finding treasures in dungeons, mine ores in abundance, go where no man has gone before (don't sue me, Gene), and kill small animals (please seek counseling) with impunity. On the 1st and 15th of every month, the Frontier will be reborn as a new world, with fresh items and areas. So we can build a nice community in Caladan and not have to venture far (unless you want to), while sucking the Frontier dry of valuables. (This will also be handy for any future Minecraft updates that introduce new items). A good strategy for diamonds and gold: Go to the Frontier, find your way down some natural caves to about level 11 (your 'y' coordinate when you hit F3), pick a direction, and dig a tunnel until your hands fall off (or you want to stop).
Also new to Caladan is the ability to claim plots of land and have it totally protected from water, lava, people killing your animals, and griefing of all sorts. Watch the video at http://tinyurl.com/6nkwegj to see more details.
The admins have built a little town (unnamed) at spawn. Build a house in town for some socializing and community! Thanks to the Frontier, there won't be any fighting or scrambling for resources. Or strike out somewhere on your own in the new world.
