im thinking about an upgrade for my gaming PC and i have 3 choices

1: ADATA XPG SX900 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Price $199.99

or

2: BIOSTAR A880GZ AM3+ HDMI SATA 6Gb/s mATX AMD Motherboard
and a AMD FX-8120 8 core Zambezi 3.1GHz AM3+ socket CPU
(and save up for the solid state drive)
Price $199.98

or

3: BIOSTAR A880GZ AM3+ HDMI SATA 6Gb/s mATX AMD Motherboard
and a AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor
(and save up for the solid state drive)
Price $169.98

here are my current specs;
Win 8 Pro 64-bit
ECS motherboard AM3 socket
AMD Athlon II x3 450 3.2GHz triple core cpu
8 GB Crucial Ballistix 240-pin 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
HIS Radeon HD 7850 ICEQ Turbo Edition 2GB GDDR5 Video Card
Raidmax 630 Watt PSU/Power supply
500GB Barracuda 7200rpm Sata II Internal Hard Drive

im leaning towards #3
any thoughts?

found another option

ECS A960M-M3 AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Processor
benchmark 6,398 (current CPU benchmark is 3,064)
this rings in at $168.97 (big gaming improvement compared to my current setup)

cooling:
my case has 7 120mm blue LED fans
im not looking to overclock it should be okay with the stock cooler-heatsync/fan
plus i have a tube of some decent thermal paste which i may use if the stock amount isn't a reasonably applied

depending on how things go my wife may buy this for me soon due to monday being my birthday.

then my next upgrade would be a
solid state drive
max out my motherboard at 16GB (currenty using 2x4GB 1333MHz 240-pin DDR3)

just ordered my birthday present thanks to my awesome wife
ECS A960M-M3 AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Processor
benchmark is 6,398

My old CPU benchmark is 3,064
AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor

now i can't wait for it to come in!!

Recycle:
now i can take my old parts and use them for my sons tower.
after the switch he will only need 2 things;
1. 8GB of RAM
2. USB wireless Gaming Adapter
this will get him playing for now and he can fancy up his tower later

once he is up and running he will apply to ToJ/CGA.
these are his two favorite things (listed in order of importance)
1. JESUS
2. gaming

If it was me, I'd do #2. The FX-8120 benchmarks quite a bit better than the FX-6100

i wanted to say thanks for sharing the benchmark link...it helped alot with choosing a CPU.
budget-wise the FX-6300 3.5GHz 6 core was the best bang for a buck i could squeeze
allowing me to still get a motherboard too.

then i spent half a day reading reviews from customers to find the micro atx board with the most success

my parts were in my town at 4:01am so im assuming they will be delivered today
at some point today i need to clean my current case,
take old mobo and cpu out
and install it in my son's case.

i have about $156.00 left to go on his tower
wireless adapter,RAM and he wants Guild Wars 2
luckily newegg has some good deals lol
