This forum is always a lot slower for me than most other forums I frequent. I don't think it has to do with any particular time of day, I think it's just running on a slow or memory starved server. I know that doesn't help much.

Hey, in answer to my own questions, I checked out Kerio's user manual.  Lots of good stuff there, and YES it does prevent outbound traffic per application.  Looks like it's much more configurable than ZoneAlarm. I've seen just a few anomalies with ZoneAlarm, so I think I'll check out Kerio...
