UPDATE..His intestines have not started back yet.. they say it can take anywhere from 1 to 5 days for them to start back up so they had to put a tube through his nose to his stomach to empty it, very uncomfortable. He has a tube sticking out of his incision to drain any more infection out. Now...

if you don't have the right amount of standoffs the mobo could be shorting out on the case (current follows the easiest path) make certain that the case is made to accept that kind of mobo ( ATX, BTX, mini-ATX)
