The problem isn't on your end, Tea, so you can't do anything about that. What needs to happen is the server's operator will have to update the server to the latest version before anyone can use it.

I own the Zelda WiiU, and if you have to buy something always buy into the portables, I would get the Zelda 3DS if I had the cash lying around. Other than that you could by a used one after launch/release with price drops and all.
