    Deuteronomy Question

In Deuteronomy the people were being prepared to go into the land. Remember in Exodus they are freed by God's mighty hand from the yoke of slavery to the Egyptians. The are led by God to Mt. Sinai where thy received the Law the first time, but then as they near the Promised Land they are shown...

What should I do for gold?

I disagree personally, I think it extremely helps the casual gamer. Someone who doesn't have 50 hours a week to sink into farming gold can drop $25 and pick up a sizeable chunk of in game cash to keep him actually doing something enjoyable as opposed to pushing for gold.

Why does Psalm 14 appear in the Bible twice?

On several levels, yes. First off just the problems of extremely outdated English. Language changes over time, and much of the original KJV is just plain hard to follow, even for intelligent people. Secondly, the translators of the KJV did not even have original language versions for all of the...

Why does Psalm 14 appear in the Bible twice?

Just for your info though, the NIV is heavily paraphrased (not in the same manner or to the same extent as 'the Message' or others like it of course), and it often compromises the real meaning in the Greek.

Why does Psalm 14 appear in the Bible twice?

There are really only two translations out there that go strictly word-for-word (or extremely close to it) in the translation. All others interpret things in order to make it easier to read. Those two that go word-for-word are the NKJV and the NASB. Now between the two of them there are...

Looking for more Living in Christ ministry staff

I'm not sure what's exactly involved in these teams, but as a former pastor and current seminary student, and a lover of all things dealing with theology, apologetics, bible study, etc, I would love to help out in any way with either of those teams. Being a husband and father of three...

Why does Psalm 14 appear in the Bible twice?

If you want the answer from a theologian, pastor and seminary student at one of the leading conservative (biblically speaking) seminaries around ... and that would be me I am referring to ... the best translation on the market is the NASB, followed closely by the NKJV. If you want to read...

The lesser of two evils: Charter v. AT&T

I'm not a big fan of AT&T at all ... however, with that said, I worked for many years in the audio-video field (home theater, satellite, etc), and I have a driving passion about how horrible the cable companies are. I would love to find an alternate to both, because I would love to cancel my...

What should I do for gold?

The thing is I don't know that they can really tell who has bought gold. The only thing in the realm of their game that is there to track is the e-mail receiving the gold. The transaction of cash happens outside of anything they are connected to. They can attack those who are using some sort of...

What should I do for gold?

Actually Tek, what you posted doesn't seem to say anything about the issue of buying gold. Perusing all of the doccuments I could, there is only one that would seemingly possibly be applicable, and that is this: Now as to whether or not that wold apply to gold would depend on your definition...

I picked up Zondervan's "Archaeological Study Bible"

I've flipped thought it and found the notes somewhat interesting. I haven't picked one up because I have a strong distaste for the "Nearly Inspired Version" as I call it. You spoke about winning a trip though ... 4 weeks from tommorow I am on my way for a two week study tour of Israel and...

    Religious Background

I personally grew up in an agnostic household and considered myself an atheist. Now I'm the opposite a conservative Christian seminary student (though I would break MANY of the stereotypes that probably come to your mind by my claiming that).

    United Church of Christ commercials

The church you highlight with the ad is an anything is ok, liscentious (spelling?) church. My position on things, for instance, homosexuality is this. It is clearly a sin biblically, and the Bible is the guidebook for Christian living. However, we are called to not judge the world, for we were...

    United Church of Christ commercials

The commercial itself I would agree with; the actual thoughts of those making it, and how they would intrepret things there I would not.

    Ok, yes I'm a WoW n00b ...

Well, like Ironforge, I have a quest to take stuff there on my Pally, but I have no idea how to get to the dwarven homelands. The road nort from the Redridge Mountains is impassable to a lone traveller of my age. I have seen some of the dwarven lands with a young dwarven hunter alt, but I'd love...

    Ok, yes I'm a WoW n00b ...

... and could maybe find this info if I searched hard enough elsewhere ... but how do you go between the various races' hunting areas? And at level 20, would there be any point to seeking out the dwarven/gnomish/night-elven racial lands for hunting? I notice lots of them running around our...
