I find that PvE gear > PvP gear .. there's lots of stam on it but the lack of other stats is not worth it. Also PvE gear has more dps for me than the pvp hunter set.

Heh! Having a shaman makes it easy for the group to deal with fear (no need for stance dance). Alliance get dwarf priest for fearward beside that the tank has to stance dance. I guess the fight is pretty much skill+gear, it's probably more of a challenge to be a healer/tank in such a group...

Cooking is an awesome tradeskill to have. Trade vendors all over azeroth carry various cooking recipes, so you can usually pick up recipes related to that region from them. Also the tradeskills quest give exp which is a reward itself.
