Any words of wisdom for a noob?

That's actually a self-targeted enchantment, so it wouldn't work. Having a Ritualist take weapon spells is useful though. Stc is right though, you'll need to get further in the game to be able to reach the elite skills. Ogden Stonehealer comes with Holy Veil unlocked, I think, which is a hex...

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

Heros have access to any skills that's unlocked on your account. Skills are unlocked whenever you learn it on any character. They can also be unlocked by spending Balthazar Factions, which comes from PvP and the Zaishen PvP missions. So basically, playing the game more will give your heros...

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

That's generally not for the warrior to worry about, it's the monk's issue ;) A decent back-line will remove most harmful conditions and hexes from the team. If you don't trust monks and are paranoid about being hexed, then take secondary Mesmer and either Hex Breaker from Domination magic...

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

I forgot what that music sounds like, I'm a fan of Pre-Searing music though. :D Did you know the guy who wrote the music for the GW series (including GW2), Jeremy Soule, also did the music for Skyrim and the 2 games before it, a pile of Harry Potter games, a pile of Star Wars games among many...

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

When you become experienced and know what salvages into what, you'll be able to tell how much profit you will make from salvaging something. For example, if you know a certain white item salvages into granite or iron, that would be a definite yes to profit from salvaging, due to their value. On...

    Armor?

There's no difference other than appearance, except sometimes the headpiece. The headpiece is the only piece of armor with variable bonuses, so you should keep an eye out for them. I'm assuming you're a warrior then? It's a good idea to get a headpiece that has a bonus to the attribute of...

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

While I do accept this as fact, I'd say that hitting level 10-13 in pre-searing on your very first character shouldn't be a priority. What it really boils down to is your choice, but my view is that if you wait that long to get out of pre-searing, everything (including henchmen) will be much...

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

It's generally a good idea to wait until you're level 10+, unless you're going with someone higher level. In saying that, you generally only hit that level if you plan to go for the LDoA title (Level 20 in Pre-Searing), which I wouldn't recommend going for at your stage because it limits you to...

    Yay!

Aw, I already have 2 PvP titles in my HoM :p I might hold out and give others a chance, who actually need it in the next raffle.

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

It's actually a good idea just to identify everything that is unidentified. With the exception of some of the lower level stuff, identifying items that need identifying always increases its value. Identifying items also unlocks the related upgrade on your PvP characters. Before selling an...

    Game Updates

Oh, Hard Mode also had an update. All enemies now have decreased armor and increased health. This is mainly to nerf Armor-Ignoring Damage slightly (Discordway, Cryway, Spiritway, Surgeway, etc.) and makes elementalists even more viable.

    Game Updates

I just felt we needed a thread to talk about game updates :D I have to say, I was extremely pleased with the Thursday, January 5, 2012 update. Massive buff to many of the underpowered Elementalist skills, while lowering the DPS of SoS and DwG ritualist builds to balance them more against other...

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

What it boils down to is your choice. Secondary quests are not essential to the storyline and you can manage without them. On the other hand, quests can lead you to new areas and some quests reward you with additional skills. So either you can carry on until you get stuck, then go back and...

Any words of wisdom for a noob?

I would start with the Prophecies campaign, as it's by the far the most newbie-friendly campaign and progresses at a slower pace. Feel free to try different professions that are available to the Prophecies campaign to see which ones you enjoy, then aim to complete the campaign on a single...

Years of mashing through RA have finally paid off!

Just got a Vetaura's Harbringer from a Gladiator's Zaishen Strongbox, which I believe that's worth over 30e! I also got Gladiator 3 a few months ago, which is always nice to have for the HoM. If anyone desperately wants this scythe, just give me a shout :P

    Mesmer is the final profession

I've always been a fan of Mesmers in both PvE and PvE because it requires special tactics and you can really screw up the enemy team if you're successful. The GW2 one certainly looks different, but it certainly retains the need to engage the brain.
