And the sad cycle goes on...

Apparantly Valve is moving development of Condition Zero close to the end of development for a third time.

Back on the 8th we ran a story that had word from Gabe Newell stating that Counter-Strike: Condition Zero was going gold on Friday. While an official press release didn't appear, Computer & Video Games has learnt that development has been passed onto yet another developer:

Gearbox dabbled, Ritual fiddled, and now relatively young and small studio Turtle Rock Studios, which is apparently comprised of four people hailing from Westwood/EA Pacific, is taking a turn on the great Condition Zero wheel.
Reports indicate that a substantial amount of the CZ content developed by Ritual has been ripped out - 12 of Ritual's missions apparently remain playable in a mode called Deleted Scenes - Turtle Rock concentrating efforts on a new core mode based on an idea originally introduced by Gearbox.

What a colourful development this game has had.

I dun think CZ was a good idea.. i like the normal CS, and i'd hate to see it interrupted by a newly made CS...

Counter-What? Huh? I'm sorry, I couldn't hear anything while playing Natural Selection to pass the time until the release of TeamFortress 2 and Duke Nukem Forever.

My opinion? Condition Zero is a loss. Even Half-Life itself was horribly delayed. Valve's record for meeting a deadline? Zero for four. Half-Life, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, TeamFortress 2, and Half-Life 2.

gg Valve and Blizzard. It's all well and good that you continue development until you feel the product meets your expectations, but how about MEETING PUBLICLY ANNOUNCED DEADLINES?

Think about this: If either Valve or Blizzard were writers at a newspaper, they'd be fired inside a week.

Thing is Valve and Bliz arent reporters there game developers and they are really good at it. As long as people buy games from them there going to delay them till they are happy with them.

Would rather they delay a game till its done instead of puke out a 3/4 finished, rushed game...*cough* SOE *cough*
