So, they are suppose to be at the new rent house tomorrow, Friday May 15th between 8a and 10a.

Discuss actual arrival time....

Grrrr, Uverse. Where I live, in Irvine, Cox has a stranglehold on the City Council so Uverse and FiOS are both pipe dreams, literally. So I'm jealous that the AT&T dude will even show up at your house to flirt with you...

That's because in Irvine you have been assimilated into the Borg Collective. Resistance is futile.

Just got U-Verse 2 months ago, tech was great. Speed is pretty good to. I had the elite 6mbps DSL package from SBC before and got the 6 mbps U-Verse internet package and gained 1.5mbps in the process and cut my internet/phone/satelite bill down by $25 to boot. Someday, when I can convince the wife we need 18 mbps, the option is there too.

I only have two complaints about U-Verse. You can only record/pause from the main set top box and the yahoo interface to manage your set top box remotely doesn't always like to connect.

Ewoks had Uverse and told me something different.

Which package did you get?

No kidding. The HOA just sent us a nastygram letting us know that our side gate "has resulted in non-compliance with the Covements, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&R's) and Rules and Regulations to which all homeowners agree."

I am so trying to hijack this thread so I don't have to read about people's 6 MBps download speeds and internet-connected DVRs...

I got the 6 meg connection too.

Ewoks tells me the true speed is 40 Meg to the house. The TV gets 34 and I get 6 from the computers.

Oh and the box top is also a wireless router.

We canceled our home phone and kept all the HD programming we love.

Sorry, sort of, Gilga.

Got the 200 channel non HD package with 6 mbps internet and phone. We have two set top boxes (STB). Only one can be used to schedule and record shows which is in our living room. The other STB can play/pause any recorded show but can not function like a DVR for live shows and pause or record it directly.

Given that the STBs talk to each other anyway, begs the question why the slave STBs can't ask the master STB to record a show since it can record up to 4 things at once.

Comcast is the best provider around, at home i'm running 30x6, and they're installing a 50x10 at our church in the coming weeks. In December they will bump it up to 100 down, 50 up. The following year (2010) they're kicking it up to 165x100. That's faster than my routers WAN port can handle!
