Redeemed Folks:
FJ transferred the bank inventory to me (Redvault) yesterday.
First ... let me say that FJ is the most organized person on the planet, and that he managed the order of what he sent me such that we moved 12 bags (including the huge basic bank space) full of stuff in about 15 minutes, while keeping it all in by-type, by-level order. When I went to reorganize stuff after the transfer was done, I realized ... it was already organized. I'm still in awe.
Second ... the bags are pretty full so it is time to give stuff away. I would say that, very roughly, the stuff is about 45% recipes, 55% gear, 5% faction items. And it's 90%+ pre-TBC stuff. And aside from a few librams, it's not enchanting stuff or mats at all whatsoever ... that stuff is on Tree's Redmats toon. The poll is to get an idea of how best to schedule the giveaway.
Third ... the idea would be to schedule two "giveaway" opportunities on roughly a weekly basis. If an green item isn't used taken after 2 weeks, we vendor/AH/DE it for the guild bank/stores. Probably longer for blues and purples.
Fourth ... going forward, I'd like to figure out how the guild best wants to use the bank. By virtue of the relatively minimal amount of TBC stuff in the bank, it's clear that most people are vendoring/AHing/DE'ing that stuff because they need the gold and/or mats. Outland is very much easy come, easy go on the gold front. Maybe that's still the right approach for now while most people still have BoE options left to upgrade their gear. But I would like to get an idea for how we transition this in a way that's useful to everyone as we go forward.
In the meantime, the bank is open for receiving!
Items (recipes, faction items, gear) to Redvault
Mats (herbs, mining, enchanting, skinning, primals, etc) to Redmats
Thanks everyone!
