so, this is a thread for ppl to post their character builds and for other members to comment on, offering suggestions to improve or to learn off of.

so, I'll start off.

Malachi Perellon:
(warrior/[monk/elementalist/mesmer/necromancer]
Swords: 13
Tactics: 10
strength: 9
protection/water magic/illusion/curses: 8

skills:
Savage Slash
Sever Artery
Gash
Final Thrust
Victory is Mine
Healing Signet
Reversel of Fortune/Conjure Frost/illusion of weakness (or fragility)/parastic bond
res sig (or sometimes a sprint/watch yourself)

I switch around between the 4 secondaries alot, and will probably try ranger once/if I get victos blade (for the physical attack.. so I can use apply poison)
lot of conditions being put on, then healing with Victory is Mine. so like, if I do the w/r build... I can hit 3 conditions relatively fast, then heal for 150 health and 15 energy.

Jemini Jax: Elementalist/Monk

Fire Magic: 14 (12+2)
Energy Storage: 11 (9+2)
Healing Prayers: 9

Fire Attunement - Flare - Fireball - Incendiary Bonds - Meteor Shower - Dwayna's Kiss - Healing Breeze - [Restore Life or Vigorous Spirit]

I'm more of a damage dealer with a little healing on the side.

I'm with Baron.....I have a different build for almost every situation.......and a different secondary and different weapon and different armor and..............

I'm quite the opposite - I like to put together a build and stick with it! :)

Here's my current skill set for Axe Me No Questions.

Berserker Stance
Irresistable Blow
Hammer Bash
Backbreaker (elite)
Crushing Blow
Endure Pain
Rebirth
Healing Sig

My weapon is a hammer that pumps me up 1 energy on each successful hit (at the cost of -1 energy regen).

I find that Berserker Stance along with the +energy hammer keeps me charged up well enough on energy/adrenaline. I love Irresistable blow because of its very quick recharge and low cost - it is almost always available while I'm waiting for other stuff to build up. Backbreaker knocks down for 4 seconds and I have gloves that slightly increase the knockout duration. Hammer Bash recharges more quickly than Backbreaker, but it saps all my adrenaline to use it. So when I can, I wait for both skills to become available and then use Backbreaker/Crushing Blow/Hammer Bash in sequence, then return to Berserker Stance to build it up again. Unfortunately, Crushing Blow isn't recharged fast enough to squeeze it in after Hammer Bash for a 4-combo. :(

This build has been working fine for me in PvE, particularly in the company of a good healer - but I'd love suggestions for improving it, as well as customizing it for PvP/GvG.

Arch, that's a solid build to use on anything that bleeds. The problem you'll run into in the last missions and UW/FoW is that you'll be fighting a lot of stuff that doesn't bleed, making three of your skills useless (Sever, Gash, VIM). You'll want to rework your skills before doing those areas, and may want to go axe or hammer as they're generally more effective in end-game areas.

Anybody have any comments on mine? I just arrived at drok's, that gives you an idea of where I am. I just bought 60 armor and am ascended.

I have mixed feelings about Hammer Bash. I've removed that skill for Gale in any W/E build because I needs mah 'drenlin! Since you're not using the /Mo for anything other than Rebirth, maybe you'd consider switching secondary to /E, switching Hammer Bash w/ Gale (only 5 points in Air necessary) and Rebirth for the Sig. Also, Stonefist gauntlets do not extend knockdown time past 3 seconds.

thanks. yeah, I will probably keep that build, or something similar, for pvp, but yeah, I will look into switching a little around the skills, or even switching to axe, if I can find a good one. don't want to hit hammer, because I like my shield (canthan targe.. 14 armor, +2 energy, +30 health).
I'll look around through the skills.

out of curiousity, what conditions effect non-flesh creatures? weakness? poison? blindness? disease? burning? deep wound? dazed?

oh, I finally did the last secondary and became a W/R. and apply poison works for the IDS. so that's fun.
also, do you think(in some bizarre build) that I will effectively able to use a pet? I just got an elder wolf... and he's cool...

Definitely helpful info, thanks. I guess the gauntlets are helping me on Hammer Bash but not on Backbreaker. Hmmm. Perhaps I should replace Backbreaker with the Dwarven War Stance thingy or some other good elite skill. Backbreaker's 4 second knockdown is cool and everything, but it takes forever to charge/recharge even with generous help from Berserker.

I have to say that I love Rebirth for PvE, and I'll be reluctant to part with it except in PvP or GvG. It has saved many a mission or quest.

If you change secondaies it take all of 5 Seconds to change back and everything you unlocked perviously with that secondary is back!!!

Dwarven Battle Stance rocks. Period. Bump Strength up to 12, it provides 10 seconds of constant interruption. Very useful in SF for preventing Rez by the Priest of Sorrows, and preventing Meteor Shower by the Terrorwebs in the new UW. Another option is Devastating Hammer, costs 7 adrenaline but had the added effect of weakness and doesn't make you lose all adrenaline. Or, you can consider an elite from your secondary profession.

got a question...for pvp, what skill would be better for my ViM build...

Apply Poison
Illusion of Weakness
Reversal of Fortune
Conjure Frost
Plague Touch

[each skill would be level 8, except for plague touch, which has no attribute, so I'd add the points to other areas]
would like to hear your guys opinions. probably will go Plague Touch, but... apply poison and illusions of weakness are tempting

Apply Poison is awesome

I need a trapper build and the build for a barrage ranger... any suggestions?

Anyway I have been watching top 1,000 GvG (hey we'll be in there soon!! :D) and I've seen the big thing for R/Me's is crippling shot and apply poison.. i've been working with that too
