hey, thought i'd help you all out a bit. i noticed that alot of people were caught up in the "Class" 50+ sets...im here to tell you all its not that great. i have had some of the best gear in the game for priests non epic. i will be posting links to thottbot to show you gear, probably one post per class.

because my main was priest, i will post gear for that first. please keep in mind that getting this gear will be time consuming, as some of it has a rather horrible droprate. but if you want to have your charactor wearing the best stuff it can without having a full set of your classes mc/bwl gear, heres my suggestions.
 
priests

Priests

For priests, gear can help a great deal. Generally, look for something with decent intellect and + healing or +mana regen..

Lets start with weapons.

Quel'dorai Channeling Rod

this was my weapon of choice for mc…only staff that I found that was better was from ZG or the Benediction. This staff drops off the warlock boss in DM east.

Wand:
Mana Channeling Wand- Mana Regen is one of the best stats to look for if you are looking to be a healer in MC. Not so important in 5 man runs…but it helps.

Armor:

Head:
Chief Architect's Monocle- for a lvl 50 this headpiece is outrageously good. Drops off Fineous Darkvire (the boss that drops the ironfel for the key quest) in BRD. Not only does it have good stats..but it looks cool too. My guild had a gear requirement for rolling on gear in MC…had to have a lvl 52+ blue to roll on gear, they let me slide with this.

Crimson Felt Hat- this is another really awesome hat, probably the better of the two…and the harder to obtain. The +healing on this is super nice though. Magistrate Barthilas in Stratholm.

Feet:
Dragonrider Boots- Hands down the best caster boots out there non-epic…even have FR.. drops off Rend in UBRS.

Bracers:
Flameweave Cuffs of the Eagle- These will take some time to farm, the boss that drops them sometimes drops some crummy green fr bracers, and when he does drop the blues it may not be the correct suffix. However, this boss is really easy to farm, only takes two or 3 people to kill him (I have seen a shaman solo him too.) Lord Incendeous in BRD.

Gloves:
Hands of the Exalted Herald- Princess Moira in BRD. She will drop loot if at least one person has finished the 'Royal Rescue' quest. However, only those people who have finished the quest can get the loot, but they can *all* roll on it. If someone who hasn't finished the quest wins the roll... *poof*... the loot goes up in smoke. IMO best priest gloves non-epic in the game. Worth doing the quest for to kill her and get them .

Shoulders:
Mantle of the Timbermaw- have to be crafted by someone who is exalted with Timbermaw hold AND a tailor. However, they are totally worth getting, excellent for MC and I honestly haven’t found a non-epic replacement.

Legs:
Padre's Trousers: Best non epic priest pants. Hands down. Should be epic. Drops off the hunter boss in DM west.

Polychromatic Visionwrap: just look at it. UBRS father flame event boss.

Drakefire Amulet: MC FR gear. Reward for end of onyxia chain.

Tooth of Gnarr- one of the two I used. This is a very nice raid neckpiece.

Trinket:
YOUR DM BOOK TRINKET. This is one of the best trinkets in the game for your class…use it…make it your friend…never take it off :D

Mindtap Talsman- the king of trinkets. Only better mana/5sec trinket drops off onyxia (Shard of the Scale i believe its called). This is huge mana regen. You know…this isn’t unique either so u can wear two should u decide to take your dm book trinket off. the boss that drops this is farmable as well....shadowpriest boss in DM west.

Back:
Cloak of the Cozmos- probably the best blue healing cape in the game...only a step down from the Hide of the Wild.

Hide of the Wild-notice this is the only epic piece i posted...because its really the only one that isnt hard as stuff-right to get, and it doesnt drop in an end game instance. best healing back piece in the game...and its made, not dropped. gathering the mats can be difficult if you dont have the money (or dont want to spend it). but not too hard...shouldnt take more than a week or two to farm.

this concludes my priest section. as you can see this takes a lot of work, so i will have the next class up probably sometime this week.

*edit* i had a 60 priest on magtheridon horde side...i had all but two of these pieces, so im not just throwing gear around like a wild goose chase, this is obtainable if you just take the time to run these instances.

The rep required to craft them is revered not exhalted. The rep grind sucks unless your human.

Pretty awesome, I was looking at the hunter stuff since my main is a hunter, and it has pretty good lists for gear. This site is definately a must see, just click on your class icon at the top and select the gear builds your interested in and boom theres a list of gear for each slot. Some of the stuff in there doesn't make sense but you should know at 60 which items are pretty useless for your class.
 
im trying to stay away from the blue item sets...the pieces themselves arent that good and the bonus's really dont make them worth it..i mean even priests get the 200 armor bonus...whats a priest need armor bonus for :D. since ive heard that alot of warriors dont know where to find some gear (not a personal attack to anyone so please dont take it that way) i will be doing warrior class next, with pvp and tanking sets.
