Ok, I have been speaking with both the developers from GEM and GA and this is what has been discovered. Many of us use two channels in GEM:
theforgiven
asgagem
these channels, based on our instructions, are created/joined when you type ...
/gem addchan theforgiven
/gem addchan asgagem
then we tell you to type ...
/gem setdefchan asgagem
Ok the problem is GEM will ALWAY default to the first channel because they do not save the "/gem setdefchan" statement anywhere. This means in order to fix your channels so asgagem is always the default, do the following ...
/gem delchan theforgiven
/gem delchan asgagem
then ...
/gem addchan asgagem
/gem addchan theforgiven
This will fix your GEM so when you browse GEM to see who is in the channel, you will see asgagem members only plus ALL new events you create will be, by default, created in the asgagem channel. If you want to only see theforgiven members and have your new events created, by default, in theforgiven channel then the original instructions which Durruck did originally will work.
I hope this is clear enough to get you up and running and resolving this issue some of you have had.
