Hello, I am Nuggen. I hope you're all doing fine.

Just wondering, has anyone here tried out or played Darkfall? It seems like an interesting, fun game.

Have a good day,
God bless,
Nuggen:)

Hello again,

Sorry, I did not realize that there are already similar threads running on this topic. Hope I didn't clutter these message boards too much.

There's not that many threads on the subject, and those that are within the last six months are all mine so I don't think you have to be too worried about clutter. :)

My husband and I play as humans based in the Dwarven lands. We've only been playing a couple months so we're not all that uber yet. Overall it's a really satisfying game, but you have to be able to handle pk's and loss on a daily basis, unless you just want to be a harvester/crafter which is mostly safe to do in town.

The beginning of the game is brutal because you're too weak to get much of anything done before getting killed and losing all your stuff, but if it bothers you too much you can start out by working on your harvesting skills instead which will also help to raise your base stats so combat will get easier by it, too. It requires a lot of work to build up your character, but it's rarely boring since the world and player dynamics are pretty chaotic in nature. Mob behavior is really fast and unpredictable so you can't get in ruts mindlessly farming stuff.

One thing that's different from most other games is that it's a hinderance rather than a help to join a guild starting out because being in a guild opens you up for attack inside the town. Overall it's a pretty satisfying experience as long as you don't mind the wild west always-watch-your-back type of feel.

Thanks for the reply, sounds great. It looked promising from what little I've seen. Now all I need to do is get me a job to pay that monthly fee. :)

God bless,

I really enjoyed it for the very brief period I played. I just felt I was grinding more than I was pvping to try to stay up to speed. It has some great features, I love the paranoia of the tight camera and always watching your back. This game requires more keyboard dexterity and skill in PvP than most other MMO's. I did actually feel like I was playing 3D UO (Pre-UO:R) at times.
