Wooot! I finally dinged 80 last night in Everquest2. That felt the longest out of all of them so far. It was very rewarding and gave a large feeling of accomplishment, no doubt. I have to say playing a Rogue class (in eq2) was way better then I ever thought. I think this might just be my favorites class in an MMO so far.

Anyways, since there is no ToJ EQ2 forum I figured I would post here where my friends hang out.

Now you can go PL carpentry, so you can give me sweeeeet stuff for my house. :D I really need a bigger place, though.

And are you going to bring your frog over? I've got a ton of quests that I didn't do in BBM/TS/Nek, (and a bag and a half full of Bruiser App4s in my bank) so I'd be happy to mentor. Right now at level 37 I have about 43 AAs, but can always use more!

I need to see about saving up for a mount, too. Eh, I'll probably just get the carpet from SS until I can afford something better. Right now it's totems FTW. Gotta save up for MC armor for each tier, upgrading weapons, keep spells and CAs at Ad3... And all with no sugar daddy. =)

Yeah, it is. I tried the trial about 2 years ago and completely agreed with you. It didn't hold my interest at all. When I tried it again in December, I discovered that they had really changed the game and gotten rid of a lot of the annoying stuff that turned me off. Now, I'm having an absolute blast.

@ Baddwin - Yeah you need to upgrade your apartment to at least a 3room, but its really not that expensive to get a 5 room in Gorowyn, if you need help with the initial down payment I can, the rent is pocket change once you get it. Plus having 5 broker slots plus house/attic storage is amazing.

Yeah now it is time to work on Laguna's epic weapon and start carpentry, so expect a mailbox full of random housing items. I think I will be bringing the frog over shortly, have to decide if thats the Alt I want to PL for sure or not, the necromancer or defiler all sound good as well (I keep going back and forth) You can mail Lag the CAs and I can put in shared bank for Fragglerock da'Froglok

Dude, I have to complete the "Robe of the Oracle" HQ as a prereq for my epic, I think that you are the right level for that as well if you want to work on that with me this week, otherwise I will just solo it and find a random noob to mentor for turn-in.

It was some collections that got me the final 5%, I was in guild saying "Hey do we have a lvl 80 Sarnak in the guild yet?" and as ppl said, nope not yet, I turned them in and dinged! heheh

EQ2 is a wonderful game, however, like Vanguard, it is not get good until a while after it was released, therefore it is not that popular...
 
Plus for a game as old as WoW it takes incredible system specs to look and run good. That is something Blizz nailed. WoW plays great on a wide range of system specs. EQ2 is way more demanding and alienates people on low-end pcs.

Is it the 5 room that's 5g/week? It's quite a step up from the 5s/week I'm paying now, but really isn't much of a stretch anymore. I'm making plenty of cash so that shouldn't really be painful. I'm not sure what the down payment is on those. 1p+, IIRC. I've got about 6p on Meedeep now, but know that a new set of MC armor is only a few levels away. I'm locked right now so that I don't outlevel the group I've been running with (they're all 30-34 now, since they usually play their 80s), so I may be able to make a fair bit of cash in the interim. The extra space, especially for sales crates, would be welcome. I'm maxed on 1 28 slot and 1 36 slot. I think I need to pull the attunable gear that's not selling and get BK to transmute it. Some of it has been sitting there for weeks.

Send whatever carpentry stuff you don't need. I'm not picky. =)

I'm still OK on bank storage. If you've got the bank slots to spare, I'll just hand them over to Laguna next time I decide to spam random emotes at you near the broker.

As far as alts, I always thought that Necro looked like a lot of fun, but I hear they're brutal to try to play in PvP. I think that's why I'm enjoying the SK so much. I get some similar 'toys' to play with, but also get to hide behind plate armor. And it's just so much fun to drop my M2 harm touch in PvP and see 2/3 to 3/4 of the enemy's health bar disappear instantly. I love hitting a ganking scout with that and watch him try to run while I'm peppering him with spells and DoTs. :D I didn't know you had a Defiler. Shammy's look like fun, but I heard that Defilers don't do much in the damage department, and since I tend to solo so much I stayed away from them.

And I'm definitely down for the HQ. I haven't picked that one up yet, but know where the mob is that you have to kill to start it. Easy to get to from Gorowyn, so give me a holler and I'll start it with you. I see that you have to go to Q-town for that chain. Any idea of you get carnage flagged in Down Below?

And extra grats for being the first epic Sarnak in our epic guild. :)

Edit: Yeah, EQ does tend to be a resource hog. I have a 2-3 year old system that ran WoW flawlessly. I had to turn the graphics down in EQ to run smoothly, and still lagged in town. A couple of weeks ago I upgraded from 1GB RAM to 3GB, and I'm now able to run seamlessly anywhere (even Neriak!) with the standard graphics setting.

ahh i need to check with my dad and get bootcamp or parallels.. which do u suggest? i know he has parallels on his computer and i use to but i havent tried bootcamp

I did notice that my laptop ran WoW better than it did EQ2. Found that kind of odd.

And Ewoks I will give you back your 20g. Someday... :D
 
i <3 my mac and always will!
i mean yes i know i dont know all the computer stuff behind it but i just love all the different stuff! its so much appealing to the eye! and ya some things u cant do on macs that u can on windows but i dont care i love my big screen and no tower!
 
if by free you mean you pay for the game and then monthly subscription like WOW then ya its free
