Dungeon Siege III

Let me save you time and say its ATROCIOUS!
Who invents a new way to control a 3rd person toon?!?
They want me to constantly hold down right mouse to move while spamming left mouse to auto attack!?! Using E to interact constantly while 1-5 for specials and space to block... my hands were numb 5 mins into the game.
NO STRAFE no keybindings whatsoever?!? Camera is restrictive to a very annoying degree.
This game stinks hardcore, my my Square Enix what has happened to you? You cannot produce a quality game to save your life these days!

The game play was fine for a hack n slash, graphics are shiny. But too many glaring issues. A ton of barrels to smash but you have to randomly interact with E to pick stuff up in a way that is not comfortable. Did any one test out these controls?

I'll check out the demo and see if my pre-order needs to be canceled..(Jay will be ticked for having to think of another birthday gift for me..)

It did just renew my interest in the genre, I think I will load up Titan Quest, that was a great game.

So I gave it another shot to be fair.
It still stinks.

I can see where on a console this game would be better but the way it controls on PC is poor. Well OK I think if you had a 360 controller on the PC it would be much more playable. I think the other major dislike of mine is it feels nothing like 1 and 2 which had a neat feel/character to them. Everything about the demo is really bland story wise and your connection to the character is nil, having no options other then male or female makes for a weak RPG.

the controls work played as the female fire lady no sore hands. I'll still keep the pre-order.

Steam just finished DLing the Demo, I'll try and give it a shot soon and see if Ewok has been spending too much time on his forest moon ;)

It literally takes seconds to pick up loot. It has to fly up in the air before it can land on the ground so you can hover over it and press the interact button. lolwut? Game is horribad.

I really do not mean to rain on anyones parade. I am just bummed that a franchise I enjoyed was given this treatment. meh, saves me money, glad they released a demo.

EDIT: I checked...its not just me

after readjusting multiple times to be in position to pick it up? I mean this is looting basic objects from tons of barrels, it's a key feature to the game and its painful.

It seems fairly obvious this is a console game ported to the PC, playing this without a controller feels wrong on many levels.

Just want to say again that I really enjoyed both DS1 and DSII and was looking forward to this for a looong time. I played the demo today and had zero fun. It was boooooooring and even a chore to play.

I have the PS3 version demo about 60% downloaded, but I turned off my system as I'm about to head to bed for the night. I'll give it a try, but it sounds like I'll be sticking to the original plan and keeping a close eye on Torchlight II for a possible purchase when it releases.

I beat the demo and found it challenging and fun. The camera controls were OK but I agree the keyboard controls are a little wonky. I with everything could be picked up by simply walking over them like gold. The number controls are a little tricky and remapping of keys would be a nice ability. Graphically this game is very pretty. Not a whole lot on character development but the first two dungeon siege titles aren't known for that either. For a click and kill it's passable. Is it worth the $40-50 probably not. I'm still keeping the pre-order because I'm a tough person to shop for birthday gift wise. ;) If it wasn't for that I'd be pursuing a review copy from GamersGate or waiting for it to drop in price.
