Forgotten how much I hate questing on PvP servers

Now that I can be taken down in three shot by most classes, it is just not fun anymore. I'm thinking of waiting a few months to strat levelling or moving to a PvE server. I'm just tired of the poor excuse for PvP blizzard has put into place.

Yes, I totally agree...I spent about 30 minutes just trying to complete a quest in HP for my DK, all the lvl 70s that didn't get the xp were there...

That's probably why it's better to quest in groups I guess.
When I get the XP I'm just going to travel around cliffs so I can thunderstorm them off. =P

I'm soooo jealous of shammies new ability to do this. There are so many "great" scenarios where this could be a TON of fun. Especially in quest zones, like bombing missions, where there are 20 people stacked up on the edge of a zeppelin. :)

Being in a group doesn't stop it. It just makes it 3 on 4 then in 2 minutes it's 5 on 4, then its 5 on 7 then 9 on 8 and it doesn't stop. And all the while, I spend all my time as a corpse. I'm the best corpse runner in the guild.

There is no such thing as L2play when a warrior charges you, MS'es you, hits you twice and you are dead. Thats, BLIZZARD, L2BALANCE. Thats not pvp, thats freaken stupid.

I'm not seeing any real compelling reason's in this thread to not wait.

I am not big on being social. Grouping here or there once in awhile is fine, otherwise, I like to be alone with my own thoughts. Being forced to group because of Blizzards poor excuse of a damage model is bogus. It does not have anything to do with whether or not I like people, I simply prefer to keep my own company as much as possible so I can dictate my own pace.

Hence why a normal server is also very enticing. I can just go and do in peace and not be bothered.

1. Multiple times during 2007, you grew tired of beign low-DPS holy priest and "went shadow" you always came back to holy healin' Avesther. Lesson: save yourself some money, you'll always come back to healing. If you wanna shadow while ya level, that's a different deal ... maybe I'll go feral while I level too, just for fun. But don't throw away your healing duds, I expect you will need them...
2. Questing around HH in TBC was a nightmare ... too many toons, not enough spawns, and both factions stacked right on each other for gankfests. And, oh yeah, the "no life in RL" hordes who quickly leveled had flying mounts and would "gank from above" to make it even worse. But that is something that went away within days, almost. Lesson: post-patch gankfests are temporary
3. Right when TBC came out, I have some memory of you having some massive repair bill after your first HH quest because you were wearing purples and you then considered a radical change in gearing strategy. I think all that passed pretty quickly for all of us as we quickly upgraded to TBC gear. Lesson: Again, anything that happens the first week or two of an expansion is a poor predictor of future state. A lot of these equilibriums quickly go away.
4. You are one of the leetest healing priests on Stonemaul. Big fish, big pond. Lesson: is going to a carebear server really going to be rewarding for you? You'll still be a big fish but the water will be awfully shallow.
5. You have a Shadow Warrior in WAR so if you get frustrated, just log on to WAR and take out your frustrations with swarms on arrows into Destro.

Summary:
A. Temporary spreist: yeah, that's probabably not a bad idea.
B. Permanent spriest: heard it before, I don't believe it ;)
C. Switch to PvE server: you have GOT to be kidding me.

I am not looking forward to it either. I hope to be on for the first time tonight with the expansion and was seriously looking at moving sandric over to Thunderhorn for a month just to level. The penalty for moving toons is now only one month so I would be back as soon as I hit 80 or was close to it. I am pretty sure (although don't quote me on it) that there is no penalty to move between server types now.

Sandric : You can go PvE to PvP now. It is very compelling to go PvE to level, I can crank out levels like nobody else when I'm focused on it and not distracted by corpse runs.

Gilga: Going shadow is not going to change anything. I've already respeced with dps in mind. The problem is damage done in game is out of whack. No single hit should take somebody from full health to less then 3/4s health. If people like to do 8k crits then our health should be 80,000. Blizzards take has always been healing < damage in importance.

My experience in expansion has been very disappointing, to say the least.

Fair 'nuff. I resigned myself to being raw meat for ganking back in STV 2 years go. If I get one-shot, for me it just means less time wasted while I'm running around like a decapitated chicken while I'm being whacked to an inevitable death, so one-shot deaths are ... pathetically ... a potential timesaver for me!

I hadn't realized the PvE temporary/one-month transfer thing was a possibility. However, I don't think I could ever grind through leveling, though, without Gala background chatter in guild chat to keep me entertained. One thing I found with my WAR experience is that heads-down, focused, maximum efficiency leveling is, like, no fun (unless it's at a beach house in Santa Cruz and Icthus is feeding me). But that's just me ... and I was definitely one of the slowest to level from 60 to 70.

Avesther! I am shocked and horrified! How are you every going to get the next
[Guild][Acuity]: The odds of rolling a 100 are like 1 in a million.
with guild chat off?

I am totally being a spamming, value-destroying forum troll today. Makes me feel dirty, I think I need to go take a shower or something.
