Legacy of Elijah [LoE] - Proud Grandfather
When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Matthew 2:3 (ESV)
Two things struck me about this verse this week.
1. It wasn't just King Herod who was troubled - it was all of Jerusalem. To think, a king was born in their midst and they didn't know it.
2. Also, the word "troubled" is the same seldom used root word in Luke 1:29 describing how Mary felt, Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. (NIV) "How can this be?" "This doesn't make any sense."
I guess we all have to go through this "troubled" moment at some point in our life.
Merry Friday the 13th.
