Has anyone else been listening to this? This 17 year old Muslim raised girl hide being a Christan from her family and once they found out her father theatened to kill her. Sounds like she fled to Orlando to a church group she found on facebook and is trying to stay there til she's 18 and a legal adult. I didn't know about it, but I guess Muslim faith allow for "mercy killing" for any women of the family that dishonors the family's faith. I pray she can stay there and be free from her family burden.

I also heard she was a cheerleader...I suspect that isn't exactly looked kindly upon in the groups that actually do such things. Sounds like someone acting out a bit most likely.

I agree with the posts above - but this is not a "no brainer" - this is a tough one in our pluralistic society. What if the girl came from a Christian family - became a Buddhist - and ran off to a temple she found on Facebook until she became a legal adult? What if she was 16 and didn't like the rules at home? What if she was 13 and became a Christian and her parents were not and her response was to run to a church she found on Facebook?

The death threat is a serious thing - if it is real. The authorities need to get involved - for sure. The sanctity of life trumps parental rights. But, I am a big believer in parental rights. Denying those rights is one of the key steps to the destruction of the family. It is pivotal in the abortion battle - home schooling - and several other areas. So we need to tread softly as we wade into these waters.

killing one's own daughter - correct me if I'm wrong here - also leads to the destruction of the family and more importantly, a human life

That may be true, but if we take an example from the jehovah's witness believes, we can see how the opposite can be true as well. As a example for said theory let's say a young girl is abused by her care taker, but only her and her caretaker witnessed it. In jehovah's witness beliefs this is not legally reportable due to there being only one witness to the offender. (In jehovah's witnesses laws there must be atleast two people who witnessed the crime to be legally reported) now let's take a darker turn and say that her younger sister was abused too, by the same person. Naturally to anyone else this would be sufficient proof, but no. Since there was only one witness at each account, even though they were sisters and the same man was accused, since there was only one witness at each event they are not allowed to take legal action. Even if they reported it to the cops, under jehovah's witness laws, the cops are powerless. Do we really want to take the persecuted's side when it is under a circumstance so alike this example?

what if what if what if. we do not have all of the facts. Again do not get wrapped up in this until you can either provide all of the facts or find a reliable posting online of alll of the facts.

Sorry dude, but when there is a question of possible murder in a organization proven to have "rights" to treat women as unequals as well as a entire sect of people in said organization devoted to killing in the name of "god" I'm not gonna be taking the side of the member of the organization who has been reported as doing both. This is MY opninion. Feel free to disagree with me, but also feel free to respect your brethren in christ as we are told to!

possible..that's the thing..it's not even been proved probable. sorry but it's time to chill out. This thread is heading into hysteria with no facts in evidence but based on supposition and heresay.
