Got beef?

Tek7 (Legacy)

CGA & ToJ President
Greetings, all.

I wanted to clear something up right quick and save everyone some time. I want to keep this brief, so pardon if this message lacks my usual eloquence. =p

If you have problems with how the Christian Gamers Alliance operates, contact its leadership privately. If you post discouraging and critical posts on the forums, your post is going to be deleted. Plain and simple. I'm trying to move this ministry ahead and when people post what they think we're doing wrong without contacting us privately first, it wastes our time and sets us back. If you really care about this community, contact me privately. My e-mail address, as always, is tek7 AT cgalliance DOT org. If, on the other hand, you just want to complain, then please pack your bags and go somewhere else. The Christian Gamers Alliance is doing and will continue to do awesome things for the Lord and I can't justify taking time out to appease the nay-sayers instead of working on any of the many CGA programs. Please don't forget that I also have a life outside these forums to attend to, as do the other CGA staff members.

Now, please don't misunderstand me. I openly admit that I make mistakes and need you all to help keep me accountable and help develop this community. I certainly can't do it by myself and I need as many willing, able, and called people to help me make CGA even greater. I'm not talking about silencing criticism. Any community needs constructive criticism to grow. I'm talking about prudence and respect for authority. Posting your "beef" on the forums without talking to a staff member first shows a lack of respect. I'm tired of it, our staff is tired of it, and it won't be honored with a reply any more.

Yes, this message is harsh. True, it doesn't even apply to 99% of this community. But I've wasted too much time on recent episodes of rudeness and disrespect toward authority to risk it spreading.

Don't assume leadership is not going to listen. Don't assume leadership is not going to change. And if you do assume these things, then it shows you don't have much faith in our leadership. If that's the case, please leave these forums and do not return until you get an attitude adjustment.

To paraphrase: If you can't say anything helpful, don't say anything at all.

The people who volunteer their time love this community. It makes me furious when other people take that time--time we could be spending playing games, chatting with friends online, or just relaxing--for granted. If you can't appreciate what our leaders do, then just go. Go somewhere else. Go anywhere else.

We have an awesome community here. I've sat by long enough while people talked smack about it, concerned that I might blow up and speak my mind. Well, this is me speaking my mind.

If you have complaints, e-mail them to me. Don't just go broadcasting them on the forums and make a mess that leaders have to clean up. If I'm not directly responsible for the program you have issues with, I'll forward it to the appropriate party. And if I don't reply within 24 hours, hang in there. If you have to e-mail me twice or three times, don't worry. I'll get around to it.

Now, for those of you who read this far without getting offended, strap in and hold tight. CGA is going to be doing awesome things this coming year and there's plenty of great opportunities to bless others and be blessed. All I ask is that everyone show some respect, play by the rules, and we're groovy.

I realize I only partake in a very small portion of what this website is all about, but I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for welcoming the infidels amongst you.

I know some people ::ahem, you know who you are:: don't like our presence here, but I would like to think that we have learned a great deal from each other.

Again, I appreciate the hospitality and the discussions.

Thank you.

Right behind you fearless leader on this.

In order for a community to grow and move forward, it needs support of its members. It needs leaders planning and pushing things along. Encouraging others to keep pace and accept change is part of a leaders job, but to constantly deal with roadblocks by the very people who claim to be advocating change???

Lets get this train on the road!!!

-->DV, you aren't the first, you won't be the last of the "infidels" amonst us. I've notice a few others have joined rank as well in the last day. I can't imagine what we are doing to garner so much attention

Speaking of which, does anyone know where the likes of Timor and Eon went off to?
