What are these things used for?

I have a ton of things in my pack, and what for?

While you can obviously use them in chat, I think the real reason is more items for the marketplace. The more that you use the marketplace even for three cent items, The more comfortable you are with it. I have made well over $30 on the market place (and spent about $25 of it back into the system.)
