Interesting how a post on prices by one person could influence the entire "virtual marketplace", as it were.

While it was indeed posted by one person, the data is gathered from a sample of the community who are actively buying and selling. And you are right, it is amazing how threads like that influence the virtual market. Many people act as if it is the definitive price guide. The prices are just averages though, and it is possible to get something for more or less than what is posted there, it just might take more time.
 
Keep in mind that it will take a few days for those prices to kick in. I'm still seeing Drago's flatbow going for higher than guru. I also continually get lol'd at for offering 35k for Victo's Axe when gwg says 20-30k, people still want upwards of 45k.
 
Just remember the best buying and selling takes time, sure you may snatch up a deal, but make sure to double and triple check the current prices before buying/selling
