No, its the same model as GW1 for pricing. You pay for the Retail box and all the expansions. There is no monthly subscription. There is a robust in-game shop for appearance items and account based unlocks (more character slots, name changes, etc)
Well I guess it is F2P after the initial purchases of Game+Xpacs at standard retail prices. However, the store will not have anything that is required to do well in the game, nor will the game make things extra grindy so you need store items to level faster, none of that junk.

Who's considering playing this? I might try it since I really don't want to pay monthly fees (just paid off student loans and feeling broke cuz I may be getting more loans for a Master's degree X_x).
