Hey guys. I don't play guild wars currently but I bought the game when it first came out and played it for a week or so. I was really into Lineage 2 at the time and I didn't get into GW. Since then I have joined ToJ to play WoW but things weren't going so well for me. I was losing sleep and couldn't stop thinking about all the crap I needed to do to advance my character haha. God was really pressing on me that it was out of hand so I decided to just trust him and I deleted my WoW toons and uninstalled the game, threw away the discs, the whole deal...

I love mmorpgs and I'm looking for something I can play more casually. I reinstalled GW. I've also downloaded the WAR trial but I like the look of GW a lot and it seems the guild is pretty active. What do you guys think? Is it possible to play GW on a fairly casual level? I would love to get in game some time and maybe have some one show me the ropes as I would be a total noob. Do you guys accept any ToJ members to the guild?

Thanks a bunch. I know it's a lot of questions. It is just a bit task to try to get into a new game cause there's always so much to learn haha.

Thanks

Be encouraged - you can play Guild Wars without being addicted.

One of the nice things about GW is that you can have fun at any level. I have even created new characters so I could go back in time and enjoy challenges and quests from the lower levels.

I have found the people in our guild helpful at whatever level I was - and believe me, I had some very basic questions when I started. Still do for that matter.

Welcome and enjoy.

Yea. GW is very easy to pick up for a day, and take a week off (I just did). No monthly fees to worry about and its easy to level (so you don't have to grind for exp.) That's not to say that at lvl 20 you are done with the game, quite the opposite, you are just starting! GW is a good casual MMO because you don't have to spend tons of hours to be competent. But it can also fuel that "hardcore" MMO status with its PvP and elite areas that can and will take up hours of time.

I'm kinda late out the gate to respond... But I concur with the above: GW is a great game for being a little more casual. You can go on, do something fun, and step away again.

However... if you're like me... I would highly recommend keeping a clock next to the computer. Determine when you start when you want to end so that the time doesn't slip away. (Also, watch out for your inventory, I find that I can waste as much time monkeying with armor and skills as I do actually playing.)

Kudos to you for taking a big stand against something that was holding you back. Let us know how we can help you stand strong in GW too.
