John 3:16-18

Neirai the Forgiven

Hey... I was gonna try cram this into my sig but it is WAY TOO LONG.

This quotation, (I believe) sums up the Gospel message. This is a direct quote of Scripture from the NPSHV (Neirai's Probably Slightly Heretical Version.) Enjoy!!

16 God really loved YOU, so He sent is only son, Jesus. That way, if you believe Him, you WILL NOT go to Hell, but instead you will live with God in Heaven forever.
17 Jesus did NOT come to the world to judge and condemn the people that did not know God, be INSTEAD he came to find the people that had lost sight of Him.
18 Because of that, there is only ONE thing that will get you condemned by God: If you reject Jesus Christ. All of the other things in you life don't matter -- they have no power anymore because of Jesus Christ.

So, why not accept Jesus?

You're right - that passage says a lot. But it's not stand-alone. No passage is. For one, it doesn't at all cover total depravity or inherent sin, or explain to them why they are going to Hell in the first place. Nor does it say anything about Jesus' death, sacrifice, the payment of the blood debt, our atonement, however you wish to refer to it. Not to say that it's wrong...

I'm personally a big fan of the Romans road, though to be honest, John pokes his head in there a couple times.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23a
23For the wages of sin is death;

Romans 6:23b
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If you go through those verses sequentially, it will generally do a very good job at leading you straight through an effective evangelistic conversation.

But to trump myself (and I'm sure we all know this already), the key thing to remember in giving Bible messages is to keep in mind, ultimately, the sovereignty of God in the matter.
