Listen up, ladies and gents

I'd like to propose a three day postponement of any debate currently taking place on this forum, in light of the recent events that have occured. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then feel free to ask around, but privately and respectfully.

I feel Satan is trying to divide us through our rich diversity, which we cannot allow him to do. We must be united as one entity in able to overcome the wrath of the wicked one. We are the body of Christ, so how about having a three day fast from debate to enable healing, calming, reflection and bonding to occur. In this time, I would ask that you spend extra prayer time for our leaders, for their discernment and judgements, as well as for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ whom we've met through this organization. This isn't endorsed in any way by any administrative powers, but is simply the request of a brother in Christ.

Let's see where this goes......

Heh, I meant for everything to be included here =]....Even if the debate be in good intention, I fear with the atmosphere that has come over us lately, things will only escalate to please Satan and not God.

Speak with salted words, friends, and please consider my request.

Sounds like someone is losing hope, for just 3 days...

A week, sure, but 3 days! Ridiculous!

This might be a wonderful change!  Perhaps we can come up with topics that cannot be debated!  lol Oh, yea, we are human, totally impossible!  In my honest opinion, to stop posting would be akin to saying the enemy is attacking, let's fast from church and the things of God!  I vote for posts that contain even more than ever before, praise, honor, and worship of the LORD!  I believe, after observing these posts for a little over a year now, I think that is what the Christians here have always done, heated at times, yes!  Nevertheless, they are defending the One they love, afterall.

Truly, perhaps it would be possible to have posts of praise, testimonies, public prayer, sermons, study time, songs/sermons/people that have influenced our Christian life.

I want to thank those in charge for the way things were handled last evening. Have you guys been praying for patience? lol The tribulation makes it seem you must! I feel like a very protected lil' sheep!

Debate is a good thing, but only under some constraints.

Debate becomes bad when the participants have a closed mind.
Debate becomes bad when there are personal attacks.

The idea of debate is to put facts to an opinion and share it. To see others opinions and evaluate it. This can and should be done in our forums. That is why we have the religious discussion. After recent events we voted on whether to keep it. We decided the community would be little without it.

So, talk all you want about politics. I wont join in cos im not american and know nothing about politics. But play nice and you can play.

And vanaze would you change ur text colour to black its hurting my eyes..lol

My intentions were never to "give up" to the attacks of the enemy, but to give time for wounds to heal and to rest our minds. Even warriors need a good resting period from time to time.

But, do whatever you wish, I'm not your pop. I, for one, won't be posting for the next few days. /bow

See you later.

I never assumed that. I do think that this forum could do with a cool down for a day or two. If God has prompted you to rest it up then thats a good thing. We will still be here once its all settled

I think everyone should follow what's in their hearts. For me I will keep working in these areas here that God has called me to work. Even with the snags that pesky devil keeps putting in our way, after church service today I know that we are doing God work and His will. Just read Matt 5:1-12 if you do not agree. Blessings,"Angel"

I must be completely out of it, because I had no idea anything was going on.

I don't think we should stop discssing stuff for 2 or 3 days. This was probobly not the first time something like this happened and its probobly not the last. Are u going to stop posting for a few days everytime something like this happens.
I think for the next few days people who used to post once a day should post twice, people who post two times a day should post atleast four times, etc etc.

Everytime something like this happens? No, no, I never said that or planned on that. I simply requested *this* time we take a break. There's much more going on behind the scenes than most of you are aware of, personally, publically and spiritually. Satan is moving, because he knows we're capable of things. Do I think we should surrender to his whims? Never. A rest is not a surrender, it is a chance to gather your energy and spirit for the battle ahead, so that you may be victorious.

Never a truer word said. CGA and ToJ are moving on in the things God has planned. And in such we have been really under the hammer the last few months. Ask anyone in a staff position and they will tell you how their grey hairs have increased ...lol.

We pull together, everyone is either for us or against us. I am glad to see so many people committed to the cause and to doing something great for God. Its a constant fight. Whether the attack comes from outside or (sadly) from within our ranks we can and will stand firm. I for one, wont budge that easily.

Heh. Seems like we're debating whether or not to debate.

I understand some may believe "fasting" from debate for three days is a bad idea. Others believe it is a good idea. All people should act as they feel led--not by their emotions, but by God. If you don't feel a strong leading either way, may I suggest taking three days on the forums posting praises and prayer requests for your family in our Praise Report and Prayer Request forum? Again, this is only a suggestion. Any course of action does not make one person more "spiritual" than another.

That being said, I greatly appreciate Vanaze's sentiment. He and I have chatted frequently over the last few weeks and he knows how eager I am to move on with the great plans that God has for the Christian Gamers Alliance and Tribe of Judah. His motives were, I believe, borne out of a desire to let the moderators, who have been working especially hard lately, rest for a few days after recent difficulties.

If nothing else, I believe he is asking, as I've asked before, everyone to think of the moderators before they post. Will your post breed dissent? Will a moderator need to get involved to help settle an argument you started? Will your post pull the leaders of this community away from their plans to "put out fires?"

Whether or not you agree with Vanaze's "three-day fast," please still think and re-examine your posts before you click to post them. And whether or not you agree with withholding from debates for three days, I ask everyone to respect those who decide differently than you do.

There's a verse where Paul tells a congregation that one person may celebrate one day as a holiday while another does not, but both people should live that day as unto the Lord. I believe that's a fitting verse for this discussion. Perhaps someone could find the reference for us?

Before I close this post, I'd like to thank everyone who has helped protect this community and help it grow. I would name names, but there are so many to list that I'm concerned I would miss a few names. ^_^;;

Also, as to prevent rumors and explain to those who missed last night's episode, I'll summarize: Several people created new forums accounts with the express intent to disrupt the forums. They hosted hate speech, racial slurs, and links to homosexual pornography. Thanks to swift action from our moderators and leaders, the situation was settled with little residual damage. In response to the attack, I have instituted a new policy regarding gross offenses to our terms of service.

It's just a guess, but I chatted with Vanaze after helping resolve the situation last night, and that might be what inspired him to start this thread.

No matter which way you decide, please do respect other members in this community. We have a great number of wise and loving people here who want to use CGA as a tool to preach the Gospel to those who do not yet believe and help disciple those who do. Satan will certainly attack us if we continue doing the will of the Lord, but our God defends us and we are up to the challenge.

God bless, all. Whether you decide to refrain from debate or not, those prayers Vanaze mentioned in the opening post of this thread would be much appreciated.

I think verse 5 is the one you were looking for. Sorry, got carried away! It was all good!!

Romans 14
1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

...on to chapter 15 lol Let's have church!
