long story, help with difrent comp

well every year where i live we have a rotary auction for charity at the end of the day they give out everything for free. well i got loads of comp junk for free, however when i put everything together it doesnt work

. when i turn it on nothing comes up on the screen. u see it flicker and junk but nothing else. whats wrong?thanks all

Some solutions/suggestions

-Make sure it has all of these: CPU, Motherboard, Powersupply, hard drive. All these must work
-Make sure power is on to the monitor
-Make sure you have a video card that works.
-Make sure monitor is plugged in
-Make sure monitor isn't broken

Thats all i could think of

i jus woke up, so tired..
o and make sure everything is plugged in in the right place.

What you could do is have a alternate that actually works
switch between them to find out which one is broken.

I'm really surprised at all those sacrifice you are making to the others. Keep up the good work! and remember that we'll be here to cheer u on and help you through
