Helped Tek test a thing
I woke up this morning to a not so wonderful view in my inbox:
Messages from Blizzard saying account locked for unregistered IP notification, password changed, account locked, password changed.

So if you see me 'online' before I get this cleaned up, it isn't me. :(

Clearly something is not right as far as security goes, and something must've stuck by my antivirus system (I run a quick scan once a day) and possibly malwarebytes (I tend to run it once a week/other week).
 
weird. thanks for the headsup. We hope to see you on again soon. AntiVirus and defense programs aren't likely to pick something like that up. Keyloggers and such are really easy to run w/o the antivirus/defense knowing.
 
ok I got control back thanks to the quick automated password recovery option.
At least whoever it was didn't think to change the email address associated with the account. :rolleyes:

And fyi, I did everything on my linux box since I'm now in a state of extreme paranoia in regards to my desktop's security. There will be no using any passwords on it until I take a flamethrower to the 1s and 0s of the HD.
 
I also recommend COMODO antivirus/defense if you don't already have it. It's an extremely beefy/paranoid program that won't let many (any?) things run without you knowing about it. It can be a bit tedious when installing new programs, but if you don't mind baby-sitting the prompts during installs then I think you'll like it. It even sets you up with a pseudo-vpn.

Also, get the authenticator :). I believe Gilga was selling one here on the forums recently..
