Need steam help

alrighty i went through steampowered.com before i came here so ya dont refer me to there. when steam is open, for some odd reason it "scans" i dont know why but i guess its trying to update games that are already updated or something but it eats up my entire internet connection doing it too. any ideas?

Is it possibly that its trying to update some of your game files but mabey something (mainly like a firewall) is blocking acess to it? I know with my firewall everythime I update a game or a new patch comes out I have to reconfigure it with my firewall as if it was the first time I was doing it.

thanks for reminding me to turn that off but that didt fix it >_< i recently installed mozilla but the steam issue has been before mozilla
