New concept art for heart of the swarm!

Not that interested in zerg but if its blizzard, I'll try it.

Zerg being 2nd is both a good and bad thing for me... Protoss is my fav, second terran, soz if Zerg is next in line, chances are the finisher will be protoss, and we can expect an epic good vs evil war. And chances are protoss will win, as that ends the series. They did say only 2 expansions right?

I don't think these are expansions...If they are...I'll be super pist because blizz said years ago that these are for SINGLE player only missions. I have a strong feeling that they are going to add new units and really amazing concepts into these games that would force many people to buy these. : (

Right, but you DO want Lurkers in the game, yes? Bye bye Bioball. :D

Source?

A single-player only game with zero bearing on multiplayer would be rampantly pirated, regardless of the copy protection. If Activision has any say at all in the matter, the expansions WILL feature new units, WILL divide the current player base, and WILL cost $50-$60 each.

I want to be wrong. I really do. I'd love to see a single-player only campaign priced around $20 or a proper expansion pack priced around $30, but it ain't gonna happen. :(

And if the price is reasonable (subjective, I know, but $30 per expansion sounds reasonable to me), I wouldn't take issue with it.

Problem is, the expansions or chapters or whatever you want to call them are likely going to run $40 minimum.

Then blizzard lied to the fans in saying that none of the newer games would be anything but single player and that it would be all the same thing on multi player.....I have a feeling your right sadly...dosen't blizzard make enough money on WoW? my gosh... T.T Knowing the fanatic i am though, I know I'll be buying them all >.<

In all Blizzard RTS there's an added single player campaign + 1-2 added units for online play so that everyone has to buy it. I wouldn't expect the money train to stop here...

in my mind the retail price on release is no way gonna be under $59.99, then they'll have the HOTS collectors edition, which i'll have to buy for the custom collectors edition Ultralisk skin they'll give it (much like the collectors edition Thor).

Again, source?

I don't recall ever reading word of Blizzard saying that.

Blizzard did imply that there would be no or very little impact on multiplayer, which I still think would hold true.

Brian should realize, though, that Blizzard said that about two years ago. It's ok for them to change their minds.. it's not lying :)

I don't have a source. I just remember that from years ago on one of the blizzard Q&A i read on gosu gamers. this was YEARS ago though. Even before beta came out. T.T

I read quite a few times before the first one was release that the other two installments would be expansions at near-sequel level of content and price, and that new elements would be added to multiplayer. I could go dig up sources if I really need to I guess. :)

I wouldn't even consider buying a single player game. It will almost definitely have multiplayer implications, if previous blizz titles are any reference. Or at least it will have achievements.
I think there will at least be achievements. So I think I'm gonna buy it. However you KNOW it will be rampantly pirated unless they add some more multiplayer aspects besides just achievements (which is only enough for few like me).
