Overwhelmed with Factions

Hey All,
I have been trying to play Factions little bit by little bit with my level 20. It is so overwhelming! I thought that being level 20 in the harbor and with Droks armor, I would have an easy time of it- not so! I tried going in as a N/W and I died 3 times in one little quest. My questions are thus: Do I need better armor (where do I get it if so?) and is it better to not go with henchmen and to find other players? I am frusterated because most people won't take a N/W or the N/Mo combo I have been trying (MM). I am trying to catch up to one of my friends and it just seems impossible with my class combos. So I am open to suggestions! Thanks. :D
 
N/Mo for MM and N/Me for SS are the two most popular builds for Necros. Both are always in demand. Tell us what mission or quest(s) you are trying to do and maybe we can give some guidance as to which build or whether or not to take henchies.
 
I had the same problem. I went in OVER-CONFIDENT and got clobbered. Drok's Armor is your best...or one of the others sold throughout the Kaineng Center (they are all the same...I think.) I have now gotten much farther in Factions just by being a little more cautious and changing up my strategy a little. (I am using an E/Mo) I still use mostly henchmen in it...or an Alliance member or two...(Spam alliance chat for help). It just takes some getting used to and maybe eating some humble pie...lol. An occasional friend never hurts either ;)
 
It can be henched. I did every quest with henchmen as a mesmer. Sure, I died a few times at first. Just go slow, and take your time. It is going to be a challenge, but once you get used to it, it becomes like second nature.

One thing you can do is take the quest 'Seeking out Brother Tosai'. Once this quest is active in your quest log, no Am Fah will be hostile. Just hang on to that Chalice of Corruption until you get the rest of your quests around the Waijun Bazaar done.

EDIT: Your choice of henchmen make a big difference as well. From Kaineng, I usually take the following

Talon Silverwing - tank
Sister Tai - Healer
Professor Gai - Healer and he's got SHELTER
Lo Sha - Since you aren't a mesmer, you may not find him as useful as I did.
Kai Ying - Ward Against Melee, Dragon's Stomp
Su - Putrid Explosion
Zho - She's only got one eye!

In places where you can take two healer henchies, do it!
