I have to write a paper for Bible class and have been thinking about writing it on Christians and Gaming. For this paper i am required to talk to people involved in the field so.. Could you guys please give me some of your opinions on the topic.
Can a Christian Game and Glorify God?
Are there Games/type of Games that Christians should avoid?
What are some of the Dangers?
What Good Does it do?
How much time is appropriate?
How do you avoid/deal with people who are addicted to Gaming?

I have my own opinions by would really like to get some of your opinions and experiences. If you don't mind i might also quote a few of you in my paper. Thx a lot. (P.S. Feel free to include anything else relevant, or irrelevant)

Can a Christian Game, and Glorify God? Yes, everyone should glorify God in anything anyone does. God created everything and allowed things to be created so that humans CAN glorfy him.

Are there Games/type of Games that Christians should avoid? well obviously the "rated R", if you will, games. those that would lead people into temptaions and for the younger kids, games that would lead their minds astray into a sinful life.

What are some of the Dangers? The dangers of gaming?? uhh.... well... too much of it and no excersise could lead to being overweight. Bad eyes. Temtation into sin. and... thats all i can think of right now. OH WAIT! accidently (and subconsciencely) putting ur game before family, friends, and/or God.

What Good Does it do? Depends on the game. MMO's, like GW and WoW, could help build social skills. also playing with other people will give you a chance to testify about Christ. It also gives you more friends to communicate with and ask for help with projects :p. But like singleplayer only games.... ya i'll get back to you on that.

How much time is appropriate? Depends on ur relationship with God. If you are set and are Gods "favorite child" then as long as you keep ur relationship strong it dont matter. But for people who are struggling should cut back and spend more time with him. This goes the same with family and friends.

How do you avoid/deal with people who are addicted to Gaming? can one addicty help another :p. really, all you can do for them is 1. Plant the seed 2. Water it as much as possible 3. pray. other then that there isnt much execpt to try and distract them from gaming. find them a new hobby.

Thx for the response. (feel free to sue me for copyright, but first you have to find my paper :p ) A side note, i agree. the ability to witness online is so awesome. I live in Northwest iowa. I live in sioux county and i would have to drive for at least 20 mins before i could find someone who admits to being non-Christian. That makes it a really cool place to grow up but very hard to witness to Christ if you can never find people who don't go to church or admit to being non-Christian. Guild Wars is such a different experience and so cool that way. Anyway, now that i have wasted your time thx a lot for the response and if anyone else wants to as well i would appreciate it.
