Legacy of Elijah Officer
I've been with my wife for the past few days at the hospital. The CT scan she had on Thursday found a mass on her ovary. Her surgery was postponed yesterday because they couldn't get a breathing tube in. They're hoping to do it today at 11am starting with a look down her throat to find out why they can't get the tube in, then follow with the mass and biopsy.

On a less serious note, I'm hoping to swing home today for a change of clothes. I'll try to log my accounts on so I can get the festival mask and a few lucky points. If someone gets a spare tiger mini, hang onto it for me, I'm more than willing to trade an ox from last year or pay a reasonable price.

OK, late Friday. Surgery went well, surgeon seemed satisfied. we won't have biopsy results from pathology for about a week. She'll still be here in recovery until at least that long. The tracheotomy will keep her from talking for probably 4 days or more, so we're in for a few days of hand signal charades.

Kids seem to be doing ok, but the older adopted girl didn't react well to seeing mama with all the tubes and hoses. I was a bit worried about that, but she was so eager to see mama, it was hard to say no at that point. My wife was fairly sedated too, so didn't give much reaction.

She's off the ventilator this morning! They hope to start giving her clear liquids later and move her out of intensive care. I also found out that the tracheotomy can stay in when we go home, so we should be able to go home sooner than I expected.

Biopsy is still a ways off, but the specialist who did the surgery doesn't think chemo will be needed because he saw no signs of the tumor spreading.

That's great. Will still be praying for you guys. What a lovely day to spend Valentines Day.

Oh and I have a mini Tiger for you if you're not able to get one.

Sorry it's been so long for an update, as you can imagine, with 4 kids and a wife in the hospital, I've been too worn out to log in and play much.

First, an update. Doctors are always confusing, but the test results are positive. The biopsy was described as "borderline." However, there was no sign of spread, so no chemo or further treatment will be required.

Tuesday (23rd), she came home from the hospital. She still has a long recovery ahead. No driving for 3 weeks and many other restrictions for up to 6 weeks, but she's home. The support from our church has been fantastic. They've sent someone every day this week and for the next 2 weeks to help Cindra and watch our 4yr old as well as someone bringing dinner over.

Thank you all for your prayers!

Oh, and thanks for the offer of the tiger, but I braved the wifi at the hospital and did the festival quests and got lucky with the number of fortunes I got.
