Some hacker hit the JACKPOT!

I have 4s, 57c. It wish I could have seen his face when he logged onto treehouse and found 305,000g!

Anyways, my account is locked for "abuse of the economy" again, most of my characters are on different servers, and I had $100 worth of transfer fees on my RL credit card! Time for an authenticator! (This is what I get for logging in on a PC last week...)

In other news, I love cats, I love every kind of cat, I just want to hug all them, but I can't, can't hug every cat.
 
Haha, I haven't had an authenticator since i started using macs, but over the weekend I logged in on a PC. I should hear back from blizz sometime today, we'll see what i get back!

The funniest part was that i got an email from Blizzard saying something like "Mark Yoder, thanks for your order, Treebranch is now available for play on Tenaris." I was like wow, the spammers are getting specific, how did they get this info? Then like a minute later I saw one for treefire, then treechop, then my horde character. So i logged in, and sure enough, most of my characters were gone!

What does gold sell for these days, like $3-$4 per 1000g? it's like I was robbed of $1,200!
 
If you have the addon Beancounter it tracks all of your money, including who it was mailed or traded to. That addon is included in many larger addons like Auctioneer, and maybe Auctionator.
 
Seriously, Tree, no authenticator? When it's just an iPhone app away?

To anyone who doesn't have an authenticator ... you really really should get one. It's a free app for iOS or android. While it adds one step to the login process where you have to type in a 10-digit number from the authenticator ... Blizz recently made some back-end changes where if you're repeatedly logging in from the same computer from the same IP address, that it doesn't force you to re-authenticate ... so really, after a few days of training, you've locked down your account with zero incremental ongoing hassle (although I think they do re-request authentication every so many days, just as a safety layer ... hasn't been long enough for me to see all of the patterns).

There are zero documented cases of anyone being hacked when their account has proper authenticator use.

Anyhow, Tree ... hope the fix is as quick with Blizz as the last round. Jackpot indeed for some hacker ... makes me kind of glad that they moved the funds to a different server because otherwise there would surely be an inflation ripple on Stonemaul of some sort. I gotta think you're starting to accumulate a pretty thick file with the Blizz account security department....

Wouldn't that require the hacker to be using the same addon and then getting the data to Tree's addon?

Hmm...now that I think about it...maybe lol? I don't know, I just remember my friend telling me about how someone hacked his account and he knew who it was because Beancounter showed who the gold was mailed to.

Dude you should tell your friend he was hacked by a friend/acquaintance, or at least someone that had access to his pc.
 
It was actually his little brother's friend that did it...but I don't think he was on his computer...I don't know lol
