Suggest a class thread!

Alright, let's use our collective knowledge to choose some good classes for newer folks that arrive after launch.

Let's start with me. :p

I like to use passive buffs on my team, and I like a class that is durable. I don't like to tank as I've done that for a long time in other MMOs. I don't mind healing, but I also don't like long casts.

And I like a Rogue'ish class (similar to the one in Ragnarok Online, disables, strips powerful gear, quick escapes), but I would like to support the team at the same time. I'm not much of a soloer person, and I don't mind being ranged or melee. :confused:
 
Try them all.

That is the best way to decide what you like.

If i were you based on what you said then this would be the order- Engineer, Warrior Priest, Witch Hunter, Shadow Warrior. After seeing all of them you will know what you want to do.
 
I've yet to try the SW, but the WH is awesome, the other two are... meh.
 
Ok I am looking for a good healing class....

From the descriptions on the web site I was considering trying a rune priest and Arch mage. Any other suggestions?

Classes that I have enjoyed in the past..
DAoC- Healer, Druid

WoW- Druid (like the balance and or resto specs better then feral), Shammy (resto), Mage
 
Warrior Priest- Melee damage, heavy armor off healer sort of a paladin in WoW that can do both

Rune Priest- Healer with medium armor can do ranged damage, but is your basic heal heal heal toon.

Archmage- Ranged healer and dps'r with tissue paper armor. best pure healer in game has a special mechanic where to be best you combine healing with damage spells. It is a very interesting and compelling mechanic, but it is different from heal heal heal.

Yeah sounds like Arch mage is perfect...kind of sounds like my balance druid or a shammy. But I am gonna try out all of the healing classes for good measure
 
You might do some research on the three career lines. Each is unique and does different things, sort of like spec lines in WoW. The big difference is that all three are actually viable.
