Team Fortress 2

Greetings all, I've been playing a little Team Fortress 2 recently and haven't seen much action from the ToJ community online in TF2. Have most of the active members switched to a different game?

Thanks,
Lance

Many of the players have switched to Left 4 Dead however we will be having a custom map night next week (I am making the announcement later tonight/early tomorrow as to the date. Hopefully it will draw a few players back in at least for that date. Whenever there is a release of a new game with similar qualities you will see the players drop off but I think people tend to come back a little bit after the newness rubs off. Regardless if Valve (holds breath) ever makes another team fortress 2 update you will see things pick up for a couple weeks. Also consider the most toj players I've seen playing at once are 13 so it's not like we are a huge clan.

You may want to add the Christian Crew servers to your favorites if you haven't already.

64.182.65.83:27015

They seem to be dropping off in players too though. :/

I think I am the resident TF2 zealot (taps 500 hour play time :D) It being the only game I play, however, I play at peculiar hours and the last week or so I've been playing less due to real life issues. I'll be back at it though once I get some things done I have no intention of quitting anytime soon, BACKSTABS FOREVER!

Hey if you are ever on steam and see me not "busy/away" PM me for a game :).

When Warhammer Online released, several TF2 regulars dropped TF2 to play WAR.

When Left 4 Dead released, it seemed almost all our regulars moved over to L4D--but have no fear! First-person shooter players tend to be fickle people and I'm sure we'll be back in droves when Valve releases another TF2 achievement pack (which I believe won't be until after the first of the new year).

As the novelty of L4D wears off, you'll see more players spend more time playing TF2. And with Mighty Gerbil planning TF2 game night events, there's a very good chance our former TF2 regulars will put down their shotguns (i.e. L4D) in favor of rocket launchers, flamethrowers, and mediguns.

In short: Have no fear! People will slowly filter back to TF2 in the weeks and months to come.

Speaking of which: We pay $30 a month for a server. Why do none (or nearly none) of our members play on the server we spend money on? I know no one wants to be the first player to join a server, but I've done it on more than a few occasions and found that once we get 4-6 players on, the server tends to fill out after that.

I was waiting for my new PC too (which is in now). And I had distance college to do from October until the 12th of this month. And I joined WAR for a month, and I was just generally busy with other games, like Rock Band 2 and Left 4 Dead. But after 2 months of not playing, I did miss the game. I'm shifting my focus back to TF2 about 70% fully, while trying to complete some games on the 360. I do have a hard time playing though since I can only play on 25 or so servers since I'm in Alaska, which means I usually have to play at 130~ ping and everyone is going to bed by the time it's 9PM here. No matters, you will be seeing a lot more of me in the coming weeks. :o

I has 406 hours. Can't stab if you're getting air blasted away. :p

I am curious to know what parts you used in your computer.

A brief list would be sweet. XD

With Logitech gamer Keyboard (G11, feels very nice) and Mouse (G5, AWESOME mouse), it came out to about 800. Case was 80 bucks locally (X-blade, decent fit, a little snug, but it's blue) and a 22" Widescreen LCD added another 300, so about 1200 total with Alaskan shipping. Nothing blew up or fried, so I'm very happy with my purchase. I've yet to OC the CPU, but I'll bump it up to an easy 3.6~3.8. Runs everything I have on max detail at a crazy resolution, huge upgrade from my previous 8600gt/1.8ghz Sempron/2 gigs RAM system I played on before. Cut my thumb on the case though, still healing up for the last few days. It's not fun being able to not press the space bar in shooters. :p
