Setting up on online Christian gaming fellowship website has proved to be a daunting task. However, I never would have thought the most difficult part of the job would have been DEFENDING myself against the Anti-Christ(ian). I was the target of raw, seething, hatred, for merely advertising a Christian community. I received threats and numerous hacking attempts both on my MSN Messenger account, hotmail email address, and my phpbb forum at my website. The sheer amount of bigotry towards Christians was staggering. I knew I had better wear my best flame-retardent clothing when posting in forums, but I will never forget the raw hate. Now let me share with you some of the lies the Anti-Christ(ian) threw at me:
Lie Number 1. "Christians are hypocrites and bigots".
Perhaps SOME Christians are hypocrites and bigots, but I did nothing to warrant this, as I was merely advertising a Christian community. The Anti-Christ(ian) would have you believe that Christians are hypocrites. I was told several times that playing a game like World of Warcraft, with dark sorcery, was hypocritical. Do they not realize we Christians are normal people who enjoy life just as they do? That is like saying a Christian never goes to a rated R movie. Yes, the content of said game could be debatable, as would a number of popular PC games. IN THE END, IT IS HOW YOU PERCEIVE AND PROCESS THE CONTENT THAT MATTERS. If you can recognize it as fantasy, and pure fantasy at that, these games can be enjoyed on the level they were meant to be enjoyed; merely as games. I'm sure I could give a speech on building up thy treasures in heaven when it comes to the popular board game, Monopoly, but that is ridiculous. BUT, make no mistake, any claims of being a hypocrite just because you play a video game like World of Warcraft is EQUALLY ridiculous.
Now, let's tackle the bigot issue. I received this title for my supposed "homophobia". I dislike the term, because it implies that I am somehow afraid of homosexuals. Not even close. I am not "afraid" of them. Rather, I fear GOD. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for their immoral and homosexual behavior. Reduced to pure ashes. If this isn't straightforward obvious about how the Lord feels about homosexuality, than I don't know what is. According to my Christian teachings and beliefs, homosexuality is wrong. You see, nowadays, it is the "in thing" or the "hip thing" to accept homosexuality and not have a problem with it. THIS GOES AGAINST THE TEACHINGS OF OUR LORD. It's a sad day in America when it's more "in" to be Gay than it is to be Christian. But that's the way things currently are. Go to any online community and you'll make more friends by being gay-friendly than being a Christian. It's a fact I witnessed for myself on many occasions. The ironic thing about this whole topic, is that while I was being called a bigot for being Christian, they were using deragotary terms for Christians, using name-calling, harassment, etc, and just showing pure hate. NOW TELL ME WHO WAS THE BIGOT IN THIS SCENARIO? THEM!! Their Anti-Christian sentiment and hatred blinded them to the real truth, that they were the ones being bigots. But such is the way of the Anti-Christ(ian). They only want to hear what they agree with. If you disagree, you're a hate-mongering bigot and who knows what else.
Lie Number 2. "All Christians are xyz"
In almost every debate/flame war I found myself mired in, ultimately someone would make the mistake of claiming that "all christians" do a certain thing or act a certain way. We are individuals! How we react and what we do is purely on an individual level. There is no "Christian Hive-Mind" controlling our behavior, like little worker bees. If they had a bad run in with Christians before that is a shame. I've had my fair share of bad run ins with NON Christians. But I don't automatically condemn someone who is a Non Christian. If, God willing, they appear to be potentially open to the life of Christ, then I'll share my own testimonials with them. If they prove to be Anti-Christian, with lots of Anti-Christian hate, then I won't bother. Look no further than Matthew 7:6 - "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." This is a philosphy I've been carrying with me in my daily interactions with the internet community. I will make my statement/advertisement, then leave them alone. Those who want to listen will contact me. Those who hate Christians, will argue endlessly with themself, because I won't be around to hear it, or try to justify my faith. For why should I try to justify my faith to a heathen atheist? And this brings me to the next lie:
Lie Number 3. "If God was real, He would show Himself"
This ideology is so wrong on so many levels. So much so, that I'm not quite sure which angle to tackle first. I guess I'll start out by saying that God DOES show himself. There are miracles all around us every day if you look for them. When someone inexplicably is cured of cancer, that is a miracle. When someone finds a missing child unharmed, that is a miracle. I could go on endlessly, but you get where I am coming from on this. The mistake of many Non-Christians is they expect for a Miracle of biblical proportions such as parting the Red Sea, etc. But let me tell you, EVEN IF GOD CAME DOWN THIS VERY DAY AND PERFORMED SUCH A MIRACLE, THEY STILL WOULD FIND REASON TO SIN AND NOT BELIEVE. This is a failure of mankind since the dawn of time. No matter how many times God showed His presence, mankind refused Him and incurred His wrath. Why was it that the people of Moses were not allowed into the Promised Land? Because of their sinful nature against God, even after being witnesses of the many miracles of Moses! So any Non-Christian claiming they'd all of a sudden cast aside their wicked ways and become Christian due to some display of power, this is a falsehood. I say to you, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR! When God DOES come again to display his might and wrath upon the wicked, IT WILL BE THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. And for the wicked, it will be too late. Prepare for the Lord as if He were a thief in the night as is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:2, which says, "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night." THIS MEANS BE PREPARED FOR THE LORD. CAST ASIDE YOUR WICKEDNESS NOW AND REPENT. You know not the hour which he will come! Be prepared, and you have nothing to worry about.
The second part of this statement I would like to tackle is the very thought that God "should" appear before them and prove His existance. There is proof enough. He already came and recorded His works in the Holy Bible. I SAY TO YOU, IF THE BIBLE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU, THEN NEITHER IS THE HOLY LORD HIMSELF. Why should he appear before godless sinners such as us? He already has and we rejected Him! He gave his only begotten Son for sacrifice and we STILL reject Him! There is no earthly or heavenly reason why God should appear before the wicked to put to ease their weak minds which cannot maintain faith in the absence of God. But if you have faith, then you are filled with the Holy Spirit and ARE NOT ALONE. You will be in the presence of the glory of God! It is the way of the wicked to be weak of mind and to not be able to comprehend the TRUE meaning of faith.
Lie Number 4. "The Bible is false because it was written by man and is full of inaccuracies"
First, the Books of the Bible were WRITTEN by Men WITH DIVINE INSPIRATION. When they found the Dead Sea Scrolls THIS CONFIRMED WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE IN SCRIPTURE! So what if a word or sentence isn't translated 100% correct. THE OVERALL TRANSLATION AND MEANING IS CORRECT. Anti-Christians will NEVER believe this, no matter how many times or ways you try to explain, so I say to you again, cast not your pearls before swine. It is of no use. They will never believe, because they are deceived by the greatest deceiver of all: SATAN. Only Christ can cause a Blind man to see, so in such cases, leave it to PRAYER. Pray for God to open their hearts and minds, so that they may truly see. Do not argue with them more, because that will do nothing but harden their hearts even further against Christians. Leave things in the hands of the Lord, and let God decide what is right or best in any given scenario.
I've been told and shown examples of how the Bible supposedly contradicts itself. We must understand that this is the recorded experiences of several men, and therefore, THEY WILL HAVE DIFFERING VIEWS OF THE SAME EVENT, AS SHOWN THROUGH THEIR EYES, but they will STILL have DIVINE INSPIRATION in their writings and works. So just because their view or take on a given situation was different DOES NOT MEAN IT WAS WRONG OR SOMEHOW CONTRADICTORY.
Also, I've been told that the Bible is contradictory because in the Old Testament, the wrath of God was often invoked, whereas the New Testament shows Christ and his forgiveness and love of mankind. This is not a CONTRADICTION. This is what the lies of the Anti-Christ(ian) would have you believe! When Christ came down and was crucified, THIS WAS A NEW COVENANT BETWEEN GOD AND MAN. THE OLD LAW NO LONGER APPLIES. HOWEVER, the godly PRINCIPLES such as the 10 Commandments STILL APPLY TO EVERYDAY LIFE. But Christ came down to form a New Covenant. This is wear Anti-Christians are mistaken and are blind. There is no contradiction whatsoever between the Old and New Testaments. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY ARE CALLED THE "OLD" AND THE "NEW"? Because of the Covenants between God and Mankind contained within.
I thank all who read this, and I earnestly pray that all who read this will be shown the light of life and Christ, and be in the grace of the heavenly Kingdom. In Christ's name we pray, Amen.
