The Rise of the Retnoob

Get ready to ..... retttnoooooooooob!

Well, my healing gear has been improving I can now rely less and less on the Holy talent tree. Also, with the addition of an uber weapon lately I declare the month of May the "rise of the retnoob". Here is the spec I am planning to transition to in the week ahead: demretnoob.

The talents above 20 points in the retribution tree probably make a bigger difference to my overall game play than the talents in the holy tree. I will lose imp blessing of wisdom, +5 spell crit, imp healing light, and Holy Shock but will gain quite a bit of dps:

+10% strength
+6% damage with a 2her
+10% to holy damage with sanctity aura
+15% overall damage when vengence procs (melee crit)

... this could be a 25%-33% increase in my overall dps. No, this will not make me a rogue but it will get me close to a dps warrior.

I will focus on getting to 25+% melee crit with 300 str AND a decent amount of stamina while I also pay attention to my parry and dodge rate. This will require me to get some specialized gear that is hard to get ;) I will also keep a decent mana pool in order to using my 8 second seal of command judgment for addition holy damage, which also crits off melee crit rate.

If you have any comments or feedback let me know. With this build I would be more of an offhealer spamming flash of light than a main healer keeping melee alive. I would most likely melee through trash mobs at MC and then step back to heal during boss fights. I think this fits my playstyle...

There is a compromise I could live with as a pally, the problem is convincing the rest of the raid you can melee. My guess, much like in the beginning, you had to prove a pally could keep up with holy spec priests for healing, you'll have to do the same with melee. As an interesting side note, I have now played 4 different classes of 60s and from what I have seen, I would suggest any class 60 who can sustain >=200 dps on average is contributing as a damage dealer.

Durruck, Xandar and I did a Scholo run yesterday with Behb and another SGAer. The other person, started with an M, was a pali that kept aggro very well. Only once or twice did Durruck or I get aggro from him.

Mordril. and yes, he did a great job. If you play only half as well as he did, you'll be a fine tank/dps'r.
